I have my own reefer! If you want to buy a van, might as well buy a reefer if you ask me because a reefer can haul anything a van can but a van can't haul what a reefer can haul. It's more common for people to own a reefer.

It may not be to your advantage if your leased to a company that does alot of drop and hooks but if your doing alot of live loads then its well worth owing your own. Look at what your paying to pull a company trailer, you could problaby buy a good used trailer for a 1/3 of what your paying per month and put the rest back into the company or your pocket.

For some reason some of the places we haul for will not let you haul dry good on a reefer. I don't know why.

Because they want to see you burn up the diesel. I pull dry goods, LTL, on the way out, and mostly produce back home......depending on the rates. If the produce and weight doesn't pay enough, than i will stick to dry. Why run the reefer on cheap freight?
