Relatively standard week with the exception of running a meet point on Friday, had extra miles on every run due to traffic at some point in the trip and taking alternate routes. I totally forgot about "Run Time Delay" which almost never happens for me. Basically, a run that is less than 50 miles has an allotted amount of time to complete the run, if you go over it, the handheld automatically triggers delay time. While running the meet to NJ, had a via to go to the hub a very short distance away to pick up a second trailer, since the meet driver was dispatched with 1 trailer and a dolly. Of course, construction meant that my exit that I needed available because I didn't know that the western spur northbound wasn't open UNTIL I passed through the on ramp tolls. So I drove to the next service plaza to turn around and take the exit from the southbound side, resulting in runtime delay. Had I known this, I would have taken local truck routes to bypass the need for the highway.

I feel like I won a couple bucks from a scratch off ticket every time I see my handheld offer a few minutes of RT delay.

Meanwhile also saying “####### duh” when it asks you if you are due the delay time.

Pretty good week again for me, although I've been pulling an increasing amount of rail vans each week. So that means lots of Tractor Only pay tasks and lots of Tractor Change pay tasks if it's too heavy for my single screw and requires me to switch into a twin screw (they're good about getting them scaled by a hostler and telling us in advance if we'll have to switch tractors).

I normally wouldn't mind a van instead of a set of pups, but these rail vans take just as long to hook up and pretrip, only with half the pay. Plus, the chassis locking pins are never zip tied in place, which is mind boggling since that means someone already pulled it like that from the rail yard. Dropping them is slightly better, but not by much. I still have to pop that stupid bolt lock, open the doors, and put it to a dock door (backing a 53' trailer is not my strongest asset).

Overall this week was almost identical to last week, but with 22 fewer dollars on the check due to the extra vans instead of sets.

You’re lucky in that regard. Twin screws are such a rarity to see out here, the few times I’ve needed one the the hub either didn’t want To give it up (they chose to rework the trailer while I’m on delay) or didn’t have any in service.

I'm glad to see it's not just me shaking my head over that rail chassis situation. The pins aren't even in the locked position, let alone zip tied. How did you get it here? Lol

Yeah, but there are some potholes in my area that would test that theory.

Can’t even see how they could get them out of the rail yard with the amount of potholes that the NS yard in Croxton, NJ has.

I counted 19 of them sitting parked at the hub last night. Plus they have at least 2 more brand new ones sitting behind the shop.
