I doubt they even have an antenna analyzer, let alone sell them. Most cb shops just use an external swr meter. I bought a used MFJ 259 analyzer on fleebay for $100. It works fine for my purposes. This was before prices started getting higher due to shipping costs.
Is This Any Good?

A cheap yet known good meter is a Daiwa Cross Needle Wattmeter CN-501H.
Overkill but the 15W scale is perfect for CB, it's decently rugged and cost $89.

Dont know why people need an ext meter for swr full time....Set it and forget it and use stock meter as a guide..
-
1. No stock SWR meter on Galaxy 77HML
2. Was running a little power (KLV203) so monitoring SWR seemed prudent.
3. Was cool looking at power #'s! (About 70 watts AM, 180 watts on SSB on low power 1 watt DK)
4. Cheap! I think I paid about $50 or so for meter new. Early 2000's.
JDMeteorgray, shogun and Timin770 Thank this. -
Well if radio has no meter i totally get it....Yeah it cool to look at a big meter showing watts and swr for a minute but after a cpl days ya dont even see it...Its pointless after that, just another connection that could create an issue..
Im fortunate enough that pwr output doesnt matter enough to me to need a full time power meter..I run my stryker at 25%-50% most times and my swr is almost bottomed out to a 1.03 area..Radio has swr protect set fairly low so if i dont see it high then protect shuts trans side down..Think i set mine about 1.8.. -
Meter actually wasn't that big. Just a little larger than the KLV. Both fit nicely on top of the radio in stock '95 KW dash mount. Plus the old Galaxy didn't have all the customizable, computerized protection features that a Stryker has. Just a good talking old radio that drifted like crazy on SSB but had ton's of fun talking skip on 27.475 LSB! Oh yea, I also had the Galaxy freq. counter too! A must have with that radio on SSB! This was back in the day in the early 2000's skip cycle! Still have the radio, but she's a bit tired now. Cold solder joints and such rearing their ugly heads!
