So I heard something on the radio, and went to the fb page. Someone is trying to organize a strike to get the DOT/FMCSA/PUCO to change the rules. Apparently we did it in '73.

Do you think it's possible to do it again?

    Didnt hear a #### thing about '73.

You could not get all truckers to strike, Not then not since then and not now.

A little thing called Keeping America rolling in the things we must have every week to be a functioning society that comes to mind.

it brought about deregulation. but this guy on radio/FB is wanting to get the HOS changed, make E-logs a case by case basis, not mandatory for everyone - only companies/drivers that consistently have HOS/logbook violations, drop fuel prices, get transparency on rates from brokers, and some other stuff

said if we went on strike for 4 days, they'd give. i'm not new to driving, but he did make some pretty valid points on the CB

Well, there is strike talk and actual striking.

If you wanted to change Federal Law, elect 535 truckers to congress and pass a bill and have it pass the Senate and then signed into law to do whatever you choose. Once thats done then FMCSA, DOT etc and so forth will have to carry down the new regulations if there is any at all. Once that takes into the Federal Register and become set as the law of the land then you can say you made changes.

Otherwise nothing will be changed. ELD stays and thats the way it's going to be. I ran too much during a time when we had nothing like that. And nothing to show for it other than stories. And for what? nyet.

I prefer the 60's era HOS. But there is a awful lot that has infected this industry in the last 15 years or so that has to be enough is enough. You can start by working on that.

i dont take any of that road block strike stuff serious. im all for change, but like in dc with the blocking of the lanes. its all fun and games until the state police made them get over. i say yes lets all step up. but it never happens. so i never care
