Welcome to the maverick team. If you have any questions, remember the only stupid one is the one not asked. The number they give you during orientation is a good one if you have any securement questions when there is no other drivers around you to ask.

They are picky about employment history, but there is some "wiggle room". If you have good reason for the job changes they might still hire you.

Just curious about Maverick. I got laid off about 2 months ago and am itching to get back in the truck. I have 3 years experience driving. 2 of those 3 years is pulling a flatbed. Lots of slinky loads and coil loads. Little bit of everything in those 2 years. Brick, lumber, pipe, tractor parts for big yellow. I was curious about mileage pay and hometime? What are the trucks like? What options the trucks have? I drove a 05 Freightliner at my last job with a straight 10 in it. What kind of miles are you getting per week and what is average? Does Maverick run EZ Pass for tolls? How bout scales? I checked into TMC and am not that interested in them because of the lack of freight.I made $46,000 last year with the company I was with and I was home everynight. If it wasn't for the slow down in flatbed freight I would of made closer to $52,000. And that was being home every night. The way it is looking they will be going under like so many other outfits. I'm trying to find as much info I can before I commit to just any company. I don't want any surprises. Thanks for any advice or insight you can give me.

First off I just left a Pro-Cons reply in the "Maverick Transportation" thread that you may find helpful. As for some of your other questions. Maverick pulls pretty much everything that you listed. The pay and hometime are the best that you are going to get with any flatbed carrier for the most part. I mean sure there are guys that may live next to a mom and pop outfit that works out great for them but Maverick has a really great system that turns a nice profit. Gets you home weekly (depending on where you live, most get home on the weekends.) The trucks are OK. They are traded every three years or so. Maintained really well. The do leave a lot to be desired, but there are not sh***y trucks by any means. Supposedly they are going all automatics. (Someone else may have a better bit of info on this) They have EZ Pass, PikePass, PrePass, IN/OH toll cards. I think the only tolls I ever had to pay out of pocket was the Skyway Bridge and a little bridge in Northern MO on US61 crossing into IA. They always reimbursed me on them with no problems. I may be biased as I have said before but I would choose Maverick over TMC any day.

Team the skyway is covered. Did not used to be , but has been for the last couple years.
