You should already have that information from your own body. Are you cold? hot? figety? etc.
Connecticut would cry if they found out how much I have spent up there...
70 is wonderful for some.truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
I've never been to a truck stop anywhere in the country that has idle police checking for running trucks. I'm sure it happens on occasion but few and far between. If you need to Idle so you can be comfortable enough to sleep then idle.stayinback and truckdriver31 Thank this.

That's exactly where I am. Gotta be in Murfeesboro monday morning and thinking of resetting, but whether or not I can idle comfortably during the day when the truck gets warm is the decider.truckdriver31 Thanks this.

I know I'm warm. What Im asking is how much of a risk of a ticket Im running if I decide to be comfortable. Why would I need you to tell me if Im comfortable?FlaSwampRat and truckdriver31 Thank this.

No one needs to tell you anything warm, hot or cold.
It's something you take care of yourself. The main goal of drivers is to be happy in a comfortable restful evironment. If you are not in one then either you are not working for the right employer or need to find a hotel room etc.
Its a common problem in trucking. I remember one time long ago in Scranton it was very close to 70 one night went to sleep. Woke up in 4 inches of ice and snow inside the cab across the doghouse at about 28. (Windows were open with screens in them) Breaking that tractor trailer out of that ice was something else. But we got it done.
Anything is possible. The main thought is take care of yourself. Run the truck if you need to. Either the engine, APU or heater or whatever. If you cannot get rested well, then you will not have work the next day very well.truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
70 is warm, we are talking farenheit not Celsius right?truckdriver31 Thanks this.

You're at that pilot over off of exit 40 from I-95 I assume. If you are, you'll be fine to idle.
Edit: Saw your confirmation that you are there. Idle all day/night with no issues. I'm impressed you found a spot there.FlaSwampRat and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
