Usually doesn’t pay to assume or overlook little things.....found a couple oil leaks since I been running the new Hillbilly Hotrod as @superhauler called it lol. I took these rocker boxes off the original engine to the truck and had them cleaned up waiting for use. Seems the O-rings in the rocker shafts are all leaking, so hard they broke trying to get them off, so a little back tracking it is.......

Does anyone here have experience heating their house or shop with coal? My insurance company is telling me I have to replace a perfectly good oil tank at a cost of ~$2,000 USD or they won't renew my policy. My house is forced air oil furnace and oil costs are ~$2.75 USD per US gal. @4mer trucker @OLDSKOOLERnWV are the only two I know that are in coal country. Anyone else?

@superhauler
You might be right but the grinding of one side flat enough to get past the idler gear has a lot to do with it. New stud fits snug in the hole, only goes in halfway by hand so once I draw it in with the nut it should not leak. -
Unless they're going to come over and inspect the tank it sounds like one of us needs to send you an receipt showing you paid for a new tank.1951 ford, BoostedTeg, ShooterK2 and 19 others Thank this.

Can't offer any help on that Rank, we were Heated by Oil in my early years....been on Natural Gas in a couple Homes since 1990

You Gonna take that intermediate plate off the block and reseal it as well ?? The stud hole looks ok but that buildup of metal on the oil side looks ruff. Maybe grind it flat before you tap the new stud in. I cant remember, does those studs use a copper washer to help seal them ?

So, I guess, I’m gonna have to break out the one year old Stwik Junior from his cages in Portland Oregon....

My brother was burning coal in his stove before he started burning wood in it. Coal’s dirty and dusty.
I’m trying to see what else I can get out of him on it.
