My manual mode has been disabled also. The company said it’s no longer an option. This should be illegal to alter that. I used to use this as a way to take a hill descent with engine breaks engaged. Now the engine brakes don’t even stay engaged when going down a hill or mountain. Hold the brakes or tap and release all the way. Hope to heck I don’t burn them up in the process. This just really seems unsafe.

I'm having a problem with the ECAS system on my 2016 freightliner cascadia. The dash says load transfer and it will not stop dinging. I'm on my 34 hour reset and kts starting to drive me a little nuts. any ideas how to shut it down temporarily?

When it goes into shutdown mode try just tapping the brakes a couple times. just tap not push. The shut down should stop blinking and the truck should Stat idling. Hope that works for you.

Well don't know what happened to my reply. When the truck goes into shut down mode try tapping on the brake peddle a couple times. Just tap not press. The shut down light should stop blinking and the truck should stay idling.

If you are pulling for a company, sometimes they have it set that way. In my case I lease for Prime inc Success Leasing has it set and takes an act of God probably to get THEM to change it. I have an APU so not as important with me. However if it's not under 29° (their settings) My motor will shut off in 4 mins. Very frustrating when trying to defrost or warm up to op temp. Get dressed, doing a pre trip or making coffee and have to keep restarting! It's also got to be pretty dang hot to stay running for A/C in summer, don't know that temp setting where it overrides idle shut down. If you lease they have the sole authority and password
