There is always that one guy in every meeting that forgets to mute himself:
Well he was in one of those voice and video meetings where the video is broadcasted over the internet but the voice is over the phone system. If you have worked in an office chances are you have had this sort of meeting before. And there is always that one that fails to mute himself. Always.
This meeting involved 500 people and the offender this time was loudly debating with who he was talking to on his cell phone about "Gandalf the Grey's powers" The speaker was talking and trying to continue with what he was saying while the offender was very passionate about Gandalf and his abilities as a grey wizard. The internet screen opened him up to see what his webcam was looking at and he was on his cell phone in his chair looking away from his workstation.
Apparently it went on and on and on. And hundreds of people were laughing at this guy.
I thought about your LOTR references. Thought you might appreciate that.dwells40 Thanks this. -
Guess everyone is different.
Glad you had a good time with your younger brother. -
@TravR1 I am thankful that this website and forum has given me a real idea of just what it would be like out on the road. It definitely gave me a lot to think about.
Thanks for doing what you do to make America great.
I will always respect the industry and the real people behind it.

time to grind
talk is cheap
put up or shut up
anybody can talk the talk - can YOU walk the walk?
i challenge you to 1 year otr with no incidents or tickets
truck driving is fairly simple once you get your feet wet imo
most people aren't grinders and anyone who can make 52 consecutive paychecks on the road is a grinder in my view

Getting your CDL is more like making the journey to Rivendell. Throwing the ring into Mount Doom is more like the day you retire from truck driving. Hopefully you don't lose a finger along the way.
BigDog Trucker and Gamgee Thank this. -
I got rendered immobile trying to cram for that course before it began.
They do not tell you that you really should have a few courses in mechanics before you go for your Class A CDL.
I'm bowing out and I am trying to do that as gracefully as I can.
I respect the industry and I just don't think that I should be in it now.
I think you are all awesome.
I will always yield to you on the road.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my thread.
Safe travels and may you find your way ~ home for the holidays.

You don't need mechanic courses. Trucking companies have their own mechanics.
Don't know who told you that you need mechanic's courses, but they are wrong.
If a trucking company catches you being a mechanic on their newer trucks, you'll be fired because that voids the warranty.Gamgee Thanks this. -
