Gyms at truck stops, do they have them?

What I started to say, in case it hasn’t been mentioned, Petro 2 1-59 exit 181 in Gadsden Al. Has a Gym, I’m pretty sure it’s free

Going to the Gym such as LA Fitness or a Planet Fitness open 24 hrs as a OTA driver is more practical. They have Free showers with a reasonable priced yearly memebership.

It’s actually not more practical at all for OTR drivers. Practical is being able to work out anywhere and anytime. The adjustable workout bench and the dumbbells are in your truck with you every day. You are at the meat plant waiting for your load, you can take out your equipment and work out, and with the shower bucket method you can shower anywhere as long as you carry water in your truck (one 5 gal and one 3 gal bottles should do).

I’ve done calculations in the past to see if nationwide fitness locations would work, and sometimes they will, but it won’t beat having the gym in your truck when it comes to practicality.

Ok, I mentioned earlier to stretch before exercise, but it turns out static stretching is not recommended for lifting weights. It came as a surprise to me when I watched some fitness experts mention it on YouTube. I did some more reading, and it’s confirming what they’re saying. However, now the recommendation is dynamic stretching.

I'm lucky to get home most nights. I sleep in the truck one or two nights a week, so I can work out at home before I go to work in the morning. However, if I had to sleep on the road more often, I think quality resistance bands are the way to go. They are light, portable, take up little space, are affordable, and you don't need a bench. At home I use a combination of Total Gym, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises. If I get stuck out one night I'll just do bodyweight squats and pushups the next morning.

I have this adjustable bench that I bought from an Academy Sports store. I got my Bowflex adjustable dumbbells from Walmart. All my exercises are with dumbbells.
