Nowhere near as bad as NC. Spent many a day in the eastern shore. Used to ride my bike all around there when we moved up North.

 

I had a incident near what we called Grantsville or some such on the old Braddock Military Road where it met I-68. I get close to the junction and was forced to stop and stay put at sunrise because I could not see the hood. Hopped out and walked the roadway to the Jct, turned right and found the overpass above the interstate.

Came back put a red flare on the corner and made the turn. The next problem was to find the ramp eastbound. And when I ran out of concrete on the left there she be.

Once we dropped down we found good air to come downgrade. What was happening was a inversion layer where I was before. Trapping everything. Once the sun comes up it should burn off well.

The church my grandparents go to in Sicily has baptism records for my family going back to the mid 1500's, it was pretty cool to see.

I think ours were destroyed in 1933 when Kurfurst was destroyed by that regime. Otherwise it would have had information going back to your time period. The best we can do at the moment is 1638 via a bible in the family circle and even that information get sketchy. America had a Archives but the British burned it proper in the 1812 time making all names in half the alphabet gone. Poof.
