Do you have any single male friends that drive otr? Maybe your wife could ride with one of them for a few weeks for vacation and see exactly what you are talking about.

You sir, are CRAZY as a loon!!!!
You and your wife are making a combined $110,000...since she's union I know you've got great bennies.
    Boeing right?
    You are home everynight.
Why on God's green earth would you give that up to live out of a truck?
What does England start at .25 cpm?
If you average 2800 mpw, that's $700.00 on the gross.
Take out taxes, food and drinks, and that's $400 take-home for living out of a tin can, pissing in parking lots, hostile 3AM food warehouse deliveries, etc.
You would be better with 2 fast-food jobs.
Oh well, to each their own, I guess.

I can understand that your wife dose not want you to team with her. You would be in the same truck with another women for 3 weeks. But If she dose not mind you going to otr just by your self, I would do that. But If you love your wife you should try to anything to keep her happy, Even if that mean that you can't get into trucking.

Don't do this!! I spent 30 years in this industry and I can tell you straight out What you are wanting to do is one big mistake. Your marriage is more important than driving a #### truck. The people who have answered your question are all right.IT AIN"T WORTH IT!! Listen to your wife.

Have you ever thought about just buying a corvette like most people in a mid life crisis?

I think in the long run you will regret ruining your marriage to go OTR with a female friend.

If you really want to run OTR, get your issues resolved with your wife, and then get your CDL and run single OTR with the blessing of your wife.

I find it hard to believe that you really believe that an arrangement such as you have with your friend will stay innocent, and/or your wife to feel confident that nothing is going on.

Decide if you love your wife, and want your marriage to work or not?

After you have decided that you dont want it to work, be a man and give your wife a divorce so she can get on with her life....

Then do what you want with your life....

    Its truly up to you!

Thank you all for the replies. This may sound funny after my initial post, but almost all of your answers were spot-on.

My wife will be coming home this Saturday. Hopefully I can get her to read this and we can work things out.

    Thank you again.

    GOOD!

If you need another kick in the butt feel free to stop in.:biggrin_25525: Truckers may disagree about alot of things but when it comes to family... Well family is sacred.

Be sure you get down on your knees if that is what it takes to get your wife to accept you back. Good women are ###### hard to find now a days. Don't blow it.

Thanks, jk. but, read my post above and then imagine this scenario if the roles were reversed. That's what I'm trying to say. Sorry to mislead you, but I was the person who was left at home.

Okay now I am officially confused (must be my old age catching up to me:biggrin_25526:)

I guess it doesn't really matter which partner went for the joy ride. It sounds like you two have a lot of talking to do. Hopefully you 2 can figure things out before it is too late.

    Good Luck to you both!
