If you do regional out of Burlington you will run NJ, PA, NY (mostly upstate), VA, CT, Maryland, and MA. Regional pay is mileage, plus $35 per stop and detention pay is $19 and change an hour for a newbie. You won't be home every night of the week. A couple of times a week though.
I am OTR and do regional when I get a load there while waiting for another load. I am not disappointed with my pay while helping out regional.
They also have another company that is called Koolshot expedited. You drive a refrigerated box truck. They deliver local and to NYC. You are paid by the hour and home nightly. When not busy you help out at the warehouse. I think they pay around $20 an hour starting out.

Driver qualifications aren't on the website; do you know how much experience is needed?Looks like 16 terminals spread around the USA.

FlaSwampRat, Texas_hwy_287 and Jmelendez1223 Thank this. -
No experience required. They will train you. The training for Koolshot is in Lancaster, Tx at the (FFE/KLLM yard) They fly you out and pay for everything. Transportation, lodging, and meals. Right now each yard only has about 5 - 10 trucks. The manager in charge told me that in December they will be getting 160 more trucks.FlaSwampRat and Chinatown Thank this.

I'm not sure why your school was less than 160 hours. That is the INDUSTRY STANDARD to waive the one year experience–especially if you want to work local and be home every night.
Is it possible to get the last hours needed to change your school documents where you already went? If OTR isn't a possibility for you, you may need to fake the funk and leave your thoughts of ALWAYS missing out on what you really want out of your mindset until you manifest that job.
I agree with several of the people here and think you need to work on a dock somewhere and get a driver trainee position... Truck driving school ONLY teaches you how to pass the test no matter how "great" you do on a drive test.
Best of luck.FlaSwampRat and jmz Thank this. -
There are TONS of companies in that area. Do an indeed searchFlaSwampRat Thanks this.
