I haven’t had the Tramadol in over a month. It’s not something that I need. It’s for pain management. I have a lot of stuff going on. My urologist prescribed gabapitin for pain and Valium to help with my pelvic floor dysfunction. He is aware of that fact I do not take it while on the truck.

Be very careful throwing the two words "Pain Management" ANY doctor in the USA that hears those words along with ANY DOT, DEA, trucking Supervisor trained in such things etc hearing those words will set you off the road and send you home.

You have medical issues which may be fixable. And if so, attempt at the urologist etc to make it happen. You do not want any of those "Pain Management" ANYTHING anywhere in your life while you hold a CDL. It simply wont allow you a valid DOT card among other problems.

    Finally but not least.

You cannot say yourself if so and so knows that trucking bans those medicines. That is hearsay. IF your doctor truly thinks you are not using it around a truck, then to be VERY RESPECFUL, that doctor is stupid, and I will explain specifically why.

The act of a doctor to prescribe a medicine on trust that you dont take it with you while involved in trucking in any way EXPOSES that doctor to scrutiny by the State and potential enforcement against HIM or HER Specifially. He or she will be asked very bluntly, WHY Did he or she give YOU those medicines knowing you hold a CDL?" WHY?

If your doctor cannot say anything other than "You would be trusted not to have that medicine in or near a big rig while you earn your living..." the state will take his license in 5 minutes. And refer him to the Board Medical for action. If not outright prosecution by the DEA above them.

All of this is way above your line as a patient.

If you have problems with the body, fix them so you do not need medicines at all again for them. Especially for so called "Pain Management" To be in Pain means you are too sick to be trucking. Or possibly be denied a DOT Medical card. And so on.

What you explained in the pelvic floor issues and so on, as a Female is VERY VERY common at a certain age. That is something that can be fixed in some way. WIthout medicines. Yes it's painful etc. (Like I would know... I don't as a man, but wife had some challenges in the past which affected me as a husband in our marriage, both of us would be the same boat.)

Ultimately in spite of a million words and many posts, it is my wish to see your medical issues fixed either surgery, outpatient snipping and sewing or whatever. You want to have a life free from that kind of pain and able to roll a semi down the road happy.

That is what we want in the end. Most of the rest is educational for those who don';t understand the extent and reality of our lives versus a doctor we visit in life today.

There is opioids database to prevent addicts from doctor shopping that’s what they checked.
If I were you I’ll go to another doctor, try a chiropractor that is licensed to do DOT medical and not a place like Concentra. Be honest about your prescriptions and if you are not taking them anymore let the doctor know.
It is not doctor shopping the first place refused to see you. What do you suppose to do give up?
You may not be able to get a medical card with some of this medication or get a short term one. If you can’t pass you have to give up the meds or give up trucking. You make the decision.
I’m sure Tylenol works as good as Tramadol for pain. I was taking Tramadol before and never helped me with pain.
    Good luck to you

As a defense to the state discovering you no longer have a DOT card, you go to the DMV and swear out a Tier TWO document (Or other Tiers that support Grandfathering purposes) until such time you have a valid DOT card. That means you cannot roll a TT for wages in interstate or intrastate for the time being but it is a good defense against getting downgraded to a lesser license and having to go through all that again.

Ive been sick a long time and remember the Tramadol. My doctor gave that to me like 14 years ago. 3 weeks later the heart doctor says thats enough of that one. And it's one item among others on my list of do not take medicines for reactions etc.

In the old days they used to stick a nice demoral pain shot into the muscle and wait 10 minutes to clear out raging migraines. I actually recieved botox 9 years ago in a attempt to treat migraines in the skull. They bent two large needles ramming that stuff and stirring it against the skull bone in several places. I took the knife pain well, but I would just as soon as kill the doc. Then I discovered botox was a human cadaver material and a form of poison when I started enduring night sweats that were really life threatening in deyhdation. They put fluids back into me and waited a few days to see if I still had kidneys. I did finally. And that was cleared out after almost a year. Just so you know about botox. It did fix the migraines for a while.

These days if I went to the ER for those after its beyond enduring the doctor knows to get out the demerol and wait 10 minutes. But everyone else wants to shove torodol into IV now for that. I swear you can sit there for a hour under that torodol bag and in a dark room waiting and it wont clear it out. The last time they tried 3 years ago, they came back with two drugs in a half gallon needle and stuck that into me.

I was let out to go home the next morning cartwheeling and dancing. I tried to get ROI (Release of information) for that particular record and found that the doctor failed to include those drugs whatever they were in that record.

It's really something. If get a headache go to the store buy a box of pills and guzzle them and they don't work and get really sick and the hospital likes to fight you for it... its crazy. Ive got a bottle of schnapps on the shelf specifically for migraines now. I wont go unless I am half dead thanks to the current medical situation regarding drugs. Crazy.

And in the end if that is what is necessary, to die at home? Then so be it. For sake of being denied a common medicine for a common problem. What a waste. /snarky.

I’ll give up the meds for as long as I can. I love my job. If I can’t do my job due to the pain what job CAN I do? And the Tramadol helps so much for flare ups. I’ll do what I need to do to keep my job. For as long as I can. I’m worried about them reporting me for not putting it on the paper. I should have but really didn’t think it was relevant. I trust my doctor to help me knowing my job. I will get the note and try again. I’m just worried it will leave a mark on my record.
