This post went no where. Eh? I was hoping people would comment which remote start they’re using.

Dont have one on this truck. But my last freightliner had one. It was an add on part to the VIPER alarm system. Was great hit button blinked lights, put up windows. Hold button down and it started truck. Like somebody else said if you hit the break without the fob being in truck. Truck would shut down. I did have to sign a form saying I'm responsible. Because it wasnt a automatic. Dont no of any that are made specifically for trucks. But any place that sells remote starters can sell and install. Nothing special about truck ignitions.

Thank you for letting me know.
I think I am going to go with the Viper along with the Viper Smart Start, so I can start it at home - on my way to the truck, so it’ll be warm by time I get there. A friend of mine installs them as part of his job, so I’ll have him do it.

Everybody wants someone to do the work finding one. Lol
As I stated earlier there are places that do them & the viper 5902 works well if they know what they are doing.

    Rix43 Thanks this.

That Viper 5902 was made in 2011, I don’t believe they make it anymore. I reached out to Viper to ask them what replaces it, though.

And I have every intention of reporting back all my results. Asking others in the industry what we use, what works, what doesn’t work, and all things related is why this forum exists. It’s also called comradery - it makes the world go around. :)
