Even the "new" used trailers are decent for being spring ride. Also in my experience, the trailers is well maintained.

Agree our trailers are definitely well maintained. Unlike other with any other chemical company I have no issues with this truck if I did they will definitely fix it. I had no heat written it up and they fix it. This is honestly the smallest tanker outfit I been with and still impress at the company atmosphere alone. The best part to me above it all they let the driver be just that, "The Driver" & let us get it there not nagging us like dispatch from other companies do.

Thanks for the informative posts all. Really sounds like a great place to work if you have tanker experience. I was curious about a few things:

-I believe someone said they pay drivers by percentage. Do you all get any accessorials with that?

-do they have a rider policy? (Rare for tankers i know, but i haven't seen a solid no yet so worth asking)

-What's their hiring area like? Do you have to live near one of their terminals to be considered for employment?

    Thanks.

Not so much live near the terminals cause they don't have none in Jersey and I am the only one they hired out of Jersey. I guess it's more of if you live near the tank wash where they can wash out and have a chemical facility they can load out of nearby. Like me I live in Jersey City NJ the tank wash is in Rahway NJ. The chemical plants (IMTT in Bayonne NJ, Kinder Morgan in Perth Amboy, Kinder Morgan in Carteret NJ along with Dow in Carteret NJ. That's all nearby probably like all 15 miles or less radius from the tank wash. They'll say it's a no rider policy but I believe if you can prove to them in months timing that you are a safe driver No tickets, no accidents, I believe theyll let you have your spouse with you. I know 1 of the drivers here doing it. Far as with percentage goes what type of accessorials you're talking about. Like loading & unloading pay? No, but they do pay detention. If you are held up longer then 2 hours. It's a different environment & I can #### near promise you this Mark my words. You will NOT meet another Owner like Willie Stroup not in a lifetime. You'll see on the first day of orientation. He take the words "Taking Care of the Driver" to a new level.

    Pay is the following:
    25% of the load
    Detention after 2hrs is $25, $35, or $45 an hour. Usually $25hr.
    $100 a day layover
    $187.50 for a 34hr restart.
    Breakdown beyond 2hrs is payed
Deadhead miles are sometimes played if they cant find a load near by and they have to move you far.

    They have a rider policy.
I believe after 90 you start you can.
It's around $10 a week to do so and you can bring any friend or family member.

Most of drivers are from eastern part of the US.
I know one driver is from Utah. But it's hard for him to get home. Most of our freight is in the south and midwest.

Thank you for the responses. I'm out of the Chicagoland area so it's not like there's a shortage of chemical facilities and tank washes nearby.
Right now I'm just keeping my options open. I like the idea of a company that trusts me to do the job they hired me to do without looking over my shoulder.

I live near Joliet and I'm the only one working for Time within 150 miles. You'd have to talk to Josh, Chicago is slow right now and I'm not exactly sure if we're hiring in the area.

Appreciate the heads up. I wouldn't be making any moves until next year, but it's good to know what's available to me ahead of time.
