Yea i agree. 60k a year really isn't enough but I've got a record and most companies weren't willing to give me a chance 3 yrs ago. I've got 20 plus yrs experience and it didn't mean a thing to most companies. So these guys gave me a shot after i had been out of a truck for 3 yrs and I've been here ever since then.

Stonehjl, Coffey and bryan21384 Thank this.

I relate. The reality is that's about what 90 percent of companies pay. Everything has to go right to see 70k or better.

I love oilfield, but its laying off here again, and I dont think ND pays enough to go there in winter.

Yea a lot of companies seem to be really proud of paying 50 or 60 grand a year like you're supposed to fall on your knees an think they're givin ya the moon or is something. Hell maybe I'm just a cynic but i been doin this since 1994 an i was makin the same in 2000 then i do these days. Something don't seem right about that cuz the cost of living is definitely higher now then back then.

Totally agree there, and on top of that OTR drivers are treated like criminals at every shipper, receiver, and buy the road pirates.

My wife and i are teaming now. I trained her for 6 months. It's definitely different considering all I've ever done is solo work. But i figured it was a way to boost our income flow to start our new life together. Not that we have much time to enjoy the money cuz we're not home much but hopin it'll pay off in the long term. Hope someday to maybe see 75k or so apiece that ya see some companies bragging about.

If you want to make that, get into Oil next wave and you will. Climate still sounds decent and nothing against them, but OTR is a total waste of life, and if i were to ever do it it would only be until Oil comes back.
