As long as your rule works the other way around. All of the trucks of the world that park at Walmart, Shopping centers and other areas which are specifically off limits to trucks "racing against a logbook" which do so with impunity. You cannot have it both ways.
-
Tell that to the many trucks which invent parking spaces, block aisles and other trucks because they won't spend the $15 for a reserved spot.Eowyn, Upinsmoke, Dale thompson and 7 others Thank this.

KOA is way more expensive then 10 bucks. Unless they had a sudden change in their whole pricing policy. Hell down here it's 70 bucks a night. Other places they can range from 30 on up. Lot of tourist spots, or if their the only close campground you'll be paying out the nose. If your in a tent it's only...20 or so. One could also find a local camp ground, which will usually be a lot cheaper then KOA.
Now...one could find a Walmart. They have an rv policy that lets them sleep in the parking lot, if there are no local zoning rules that say otherwise..looking at you Florida Walmart's. Or a state park, city park, etc that allows over night parking. Cracker Barrel is another known RV haven, same with Camping World, same with the Bass Pro stores with the huge stores an parking lots.
I have no point or dog in this fight other then to point out...1. KOA ain't cheap. 2. There are lots of places you can park an rv for the night. A lot more than you can a big rig.
That said...like others said, Pilot an such market themselves as a travel center, open to all. Now me? I'd not take a truck spot, but that's just me. I'm considerate like that.
Dude didn't need be a jerk about it though, the manager that is.
This is why I go with a small rv or a pop up. Can just use a car spot or two if available, and out of the way.
Be safe, an remember...KOA is evil.

Theres 30 campgrounds in the Brooks Oregon area , starting at 12$ a night , thats were we would be.
I used to haul ice cream and pulled in to a rest area next to a RV and grandpa came out and asked me to park somewhere else the hammering reefer was disturbing there lunch.Last edited: Nov 1, 2019

The Pilot in Brooks is small and always packed just about any time of day or night. Plenty of other places nearby to stay either truck stops or campgrounds. Had you spent $15 for prime parking you most likely wouldn't have had a problem.
