Don't forget yes you can park your reefer or whatever and pull a LS trailer. Usually if a LS trailer is parked more than a few weeks they'll come n get it!

I've heard of BCO's trying that but the vast majority of the cost of a reefer is the insulation. The receivers will pulp the end of the trailer and if it registers 65 and the contract states 80 they will reject the load. Not for me.

Yep which is why I didn't so much look at pennies per mile.

I usually looked at $s per day. The load MUST pay enough to cover wait/detention time.

Also I tended to do the AV stuff that goes in first or comes out last and was to dock not marshaling yard...... warehouse at the other end. One of the local transport companies would just bypass the agent during a "check call" and let me know a realistic time to show up.

Good to know. As much as I talk to him and hear about the dry van stuff, I have a mental defect that causes me to enjoy pulling a reefer so that’s the direction I’m leaning.

What kind of truck did you pull the reefer with?

2016 FL Cascadia. Bought the O/O package which jacked the DD15 up from 450 to 505 HP. 13 speed automatic. Apart from PM's and tires it was in the shop only twice in three years. One was a wiring problem right out of the chute which sucked but FL covered it of course, and the other was when i hit a moose in south eastern British Columbia. That big bbastard won. He just trotted off into the forest with my license plate hanging off his tail, while i got towed to the FL dealer. 23 grand later i was good to go. Insurance paid 22 of it.
