Kate, Had a guy do that to me on the Bishop Ford. I was in a sweeper truck in the center lane. He came around the left and cut over to hit the 138th exit. Never saw the 18 wheeler doing about eighty in the right hand lane. Blew him and his car into little pieces. Of course he'll never do that again.

either people are getting more and more stupid. or they are getting way too addicted to that #### cell phone.
welcome to utah. home of the brave. and VERY VERY STUPID. people make right hand turns from the left lane of front of a big arse semi because they too lazy to stay behind. they do it on the highway all the time. come from behind on the left hand side then hurry and swerve in front to hit that exit. or stop on the ole bangerter highway to make a left hand turn from the straight lane. AND THE LIGHT IS GREEN. my favorite one is being stopped at a light. in the middle lane and opposite traffic wants to hurry and make that left hand turn before the truck can go through. not realizing they can't see if there any cars on the opposite side of the truck. AND BAMMMMMMMMMMM. -
Don't kid yourself, he was a very bad trainer. Who knows how many trainees he has served up to the DOT for HIS mistakes.
This guy is the reason why so many trainers got canned a few months back.
Why does a permanent card only last 10 years?
Not to mention the I-70 going over the Rockies during winter, for mountain people they sure don't know much about how to drive in snow & ice. -
Why for the love of the Lord won't somebody at Central get their stuff together? Does anybody besides the Truckers go out on the road and check some of the routes to see what the heck is going on? Do they not have a map person or something inhouse in the varied regions that goes out to check biways etc?
My Roomie was in Tenn headed to Ky. The dispatcher he normally uses is in WVC but I guess this time he went through somebody in GA (?). Anyway, he sent my trucker off the main highway (shortcut) and he ended up on a single lane dirt road. He couldn't turn around and he couldn't go further because of fallen trees. He ran into a Cabin and asked the lady if he could use her phone because his cellphone had no service and he called the dipatcher in GA. and asked WTF? The dispatcher said "What do you want me do, I'm not there to hold your hand". Next he called the Sheriff and it took him 2 hours to get there. Not because my Roomie was that far up the mountain but because he had things to do. He went ahead of the Truck and removed road debris but I guess limbs from trees kept hitting the truck the entire way. When he finally got to the main road again; he realized he'd just made a big circle and was back in the same spot he started in about a mile ahead of the turn off he took. The Sheriff was very kind and said that Truckers always get stuck up there because the dispatchers don't realize it's a forestery road and not a main highway. I think somebody needs to post the road. I don't understand how this could continue to happen.
Anyways, by the time he got to Ohio he was out of time for the day because he'd lost a total of 5 hours getting lost, found and mapping his way. He spent the night in Ohio at a Truck Stop with a Carls Jr., his load was set to be delivered at 4am this morning, but he can't even move the truck until 7am. Then to make matters worse he has a delivery in MD and one after that further out. This isn't the first time this has happened to him and he was ready to lock the Truck and walk! I told him to just hang on and settle down a little before he does something so drastic. He is more in the mode of discouraging me to go through Centrals Training now where before he was all for it. I guess we'll talk about it when he gets back.
The other thing was that he left all his stuff in WVC (Atlas, Logs, Tags, Checks, Passport etc) because he was going on hometime and took a bus because his truck was tagged (prior post). It took them 7 days to get him a truck, then they had him go to Fontana to pick it up. He told them all his stuff is in WVC and they said "It isn't going anwhere; it'll be here when you get back". So, he was going to buy another Atlas in Tennessee but they wanted $75.00 for it and $4.00 for a gallon of water. OMG! I don't know if I want to go out on the road and have to deal with incompetant people in the office. I was a dispatcher years ago and I know some of the games that others would play. I think they (dispatchers) need to go along with the truckers as part of Dispatcher Training for a minimum of 3 weeks so they can see what the truckers go through when they are waiting for days at a time for work away from home or sent on the wrong road or get a bad address or wrong address. Too many dispatchers are doing it because it's a paycheck and they don't care to take it serious enough to treat truckers like human beings. Sorry, I'm done. Thanks for listening. -
i got a darwin award for you guys: I was going on a dangerous road and as I start to pass this dark green lexus, the girl driving looks at me in a funny way. The next thing I know is she right in the middle of a two lane road. Either she was drunk or acting stupid. After that she veered in front two other cars while turning. She is lucky she did not reported nor t-boned.

Brick and everyone else: I am going down today to say something about my trainer. Will it do any good? I guess we will see. I'm going to talk about his language towards a trainee and moving tandems after we had scaled(resulting in my DOT ticket). I know he is one of the "chosen" drivers but I am going to say something anyways. I am going to be as polite as I can and hope for the best.

Here's a Tip on the Directions, when your Friend writes down his load info, there is an address and phone # for the shipper and receiver , some of the directions you get over the QC are all jacked up.
If he doesn't have a Garmin have him call you and MapQuest the directions and if that doesn't work then have him call the shipper or receiver.
Bullet Sorry if we all sounded so pushy but the guy really shouldn't be training!!utahhomesick Thanks this. -
well i workd for dick simmon and they still owe me money i hope with tcan keep up with ithe new oners thay
-
Jess, you weren't being pushy. Neither was anyone else. I thought about it last night and decided that I would say something. Everyone is right that he should not be training. I said he was a good trainer when it came to shifting, backing, etc. but everything else is not up to par. I am also going to go to the payroll dept. to see what is left on my Comdata card. Should be an interesting day.
