Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.
-
good way to put it
-
whats going on with the newbies?
-
maybe you shouldnt have told the owner of the co. what you thought about how to hand out his trucks, and just simply asked him for a new or newer truck.herkyboy Thanks this.
-
While you are correct that a company can cancel your lease, even if you own your truck, you missed my point, or I should atleast make it clearer.
If a company cancels your lease, and you own your truck, you can still lease on with another company. And if that's not possible, you can still become an independent. Both of these senerios mean you have a job.
However, I will agree that if you are a lousy businessman/driver/o/o, owning your own truck will NOT mean you have a job, or that you will be successfull. -
Also by owning the truck you did not just throw your investment away.
I own my truck and trailer if I leave the equipment goes with me and I did not waste the money I invested. And if I screwed up and can't put the truck on anywhere like jdrentzjr said I can go independent. If that doesn't work I can sell and regain some money.
So ye there is a difference. -
you are correct but also if you own your truck and you can't get leased on with someone right away you still have to make that truck payment so for that reason the JCT lease is good you just walk away
-
You know we can argue this own or lease crap till the cows come home. A job is a job. Thats why we have shoe salesmen, garbage collectors, bus drivers, and so on. I like what I am doing, and you like what you are doing(at least I hope so). Do you have it better than me??? Don't know, don't care. I can go out right now and finance a brand new tractor and trailer, but I don't want to. I might change my mind in a few months. This way, I can walk a way clean. Don't have to worry about makin truck payments till I can sell, or taking a loss on my purchase. Like I said before, it's like renting an office space.
herkyboy, Alanp613, knighton5 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hhmmm....I own my truck the title is in the safe at the house so no I don't have to make a payment.
And my trailer I do have a payment and it has been sitting for the last 4 months and making the payment has not been a problem.Trailer will be paid off next year. -
you know guys this thread that lmb started here is not to discuss lease vs. owning...there is a thread for that...its getting hard to get thru whats going on here for that reason....please lets keep it to how jct doin thanks...be safe out there.
Alanp613 and Panhandle flash Thank this.
