I think the op is just going thru the new to doubles wtf is going on stage lol. I've been there too, driving at night I would watch the marker lights on the kite disappear and reappear behind the lead trailer at first.....I learned to stop doing that lol.

In all my years, I never pulled more than one trailer at a time. When I pulled rail wagons, the owner wanted us all to have double endorsement. I got it to comply, but I told dispatch I'll refuse everyone. One rail wagon was bad enough. Can you imagine 2 rail cans behind my cool old Pete? Never happened, not even late at night.

Heavy trailer up front and well grease 5th wheels are a must. Then try not to look at it to much. You will try and correct it and make it worse. You will drive yourself nuts or wreck it. They are gonna move some.

Dumb question - Are the legal axle weight limits the same for doubles as they are for a single 53 footer?
Also, do doubles ever weigh at the DOT scales? I can't recall if I've ever seen doubles in line to weigh at a weigh station.
