Hey,
I'm fairly new to the industry, but in relative terms, I'm not new to this truck. It's a 2019 International C10 edition with an X 15, I got it with 400 miles on it. I just did my 100k preventative maintenance and a new and interesting thing started happening.
The truck now makes multiple clicking noises and pops when turning the key to the on position, and even more - some the same, some different - clicking, popping and hissing noises when shutting off after driving/idling.
I'm no diesel mechanic so I don't assume to know exactly what they are, I assume they are the ECM doing valve and switch and relay checks or something along those lines, I'm interested in why I've never heard them before this 100k PM..
An update to ECM programming? A series of diagnostics only done after the 100k mark? Has it accidentally been left In some sort of diagnostic mode?
I'm very curious!
Hopefully on an unrelated note, the day after that PM, I find a high pressure (when running) coolant leak from the coolant reservoir @ sensor fitting. Hopefully these things are all unrelated because our mechanics get the benefit of the doubt, always.
Thanks guys!

All well and good, I love learning about what all the sounds are.
But why did they just start? I've never heard them before, not once in what is basically the first 100k miles.
Anyone? -
I would be questioning your mechanic on everything he did every detail. Because something he did changed the pre start check by the ECM at least that is what it sounds like to me. Did they update the ECM?
