Well a given is that you have to keep your eyes open. Mine tried to have me turn where there was a sign stating no trucks over 40 feet. There is also a road in NC near the yard it tries to send me down, and it's in the atlas as restricted. Overall I've been using mine a few weeks and I like it. But I do have to send it back because of a Bluetooth issue. I've used the nuvi 255w for several months and thought it was good, but some of the warnings and searches are more relevent to drivers with the new one.

I recentley picked up the 465T might be OK for OTR if your going from point A to point B and you want to stop at the nearest taco h*ll, but for local P&D you can't beat the Garmin Streetpilot series, which I will be picking up to replace my old and worn out 2720(4 years old, used daily) Granted Garmin discontinued the streetpilot, but their out there to be had (ebay, craigslist, ect). The in route auto arrange is fantistic, where as the 465t will not do their optimise(auto arrange) on current route driven. The streetpilot was a Premium GPS unit. I feel garmin lowered their standard's with the 465t. The map engine or map detail's are not up to the streetpilot, mine does not show RR tracks or other landmarks nearly as well as my 2720.They added a few bell's and whistle's, but are not user friendly on the fly. The 465t presently going for $499.The Streetpilot's new were starting around $900 for the 2720, used one's still fetch around $200-250, if you want XM radio the 2820 are going around $300 range. That outta tell ya something about the sreetpilots. No I don't deal them,(wish I a few laying around). Yall have a safe trip.

I should mention that I ended up with the 465t, using my extended 4 warranty from BB which they don't offer anymore (2 year now,get the black tie option, covers damage) and they said due to the price I paid for the 2720, to go ahead and pick any replacement. So I picked up the 465t, to play with for at least 30 day's,I'll see I might get to liken it,but I still picked up'd a used 2720 in great condition for $50 bucks.FYI the King's map book still comes in handy.

Just bought one this past week. Did the updates and set the perimeters for my truck. It's my first GPS so I may be expecting too much from it. It's missed turns and told me to make a U-Turn to get back on route when I was sitting at the recievers doorstep after following shippers directions for the landing. It shows me coming up on an intersection AFTER I pass it. I've tried different zoom levels to correct that but to no avail. Coming home last night I wanted to see if it would route me for the fatest route but didn't. I knew which way to go for fastest route and it told me to go every way but that direction even though it was all state routes to my destination. It didn't key in on my route until it had no other choice.
Needless to say, I am not a happy customer. I have it along with the reciept packed up and ready to return it to exchange for a different model. I was looking at the 465T as the alternative but am seeing mixed reviews here but, they are outdated from 2009. Things change quickly in the electronics world and I am wondering if this unit has gotten any better and more reliable? -
The Cobra 7700 works pretty good right now. I dont know what Kind of driving you do but it has king pin to axle settings (Useful in Nor Cal) along with accident prone area warnings, speed trap warnings, red light camera intersection warnings. Its good, I like mine alot.

As I said, I am new to GPS. Never used one before. I was dissapointed with the 7700 Cobra because of lag at intersections and interstate ramps. Especially if it was an intersection that I was supposed to make a turn. The time remaining on a trip was almost double of what it should have been and it didn't do very well at all in finding addresses. Red light cameras and speed cameras are all well and good but the primary use of the unit was for getting me from point A to point B. Sitting at the recievers doorstep with the unit telling me to make a U-turn to get back on route didn't set well with me at all.
I exchanged it for the Garmin 465T. Of course the Garmin doesn't have the bells and whistles as you discribed that you liked about the 7700 but I found it a lot more user friendly and it got me to where I was going more efficiently than the Cobra. It wasn't perfect mind you but it was a more comfortable unit to work with. -
So, just bought the 465t and so far not so good. Where i live we have a double lane divided state highway that was built about 5 years ago as a bypass for trucks around the city, the garmin 465t has the road but as you get on it a warning comes up reguarding it not being a truck approved road. I also have a garmin setup on my laptop for a few years now, i wish it had the truck settings because it is way better than looking at this little 4.3 inch screen and has a ton more detail and information.
