I talked to Gordon food service in plant City and they average $1600/wk so that's not bad. I can probably push that up to 2000 because it's case pay or take 1400 and be done at 2pm every day.

I did MBM out of Aberdeen (Darden Inc) Maryland serving 4 red lobster resturants LTL each weekend. Off during the week. I think the payroll was 1400 gross net close to 1000 in those days.
I also remember clearly that I needed 4 or 5 days to recover and get ready for the next weekend on that route. It was brutal. And I would be the last person to whine about physical work in food service.WesternPlains, Tx Countryboy, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
I think in your case, if you understood that quality of life to enjoy a little time fishing with your children etc is worth leaving a few dollars on the table, then go for it.
Ive needed years to get over many family related event losses because Im too busy fighting NYC bridge traffic to get into the Hunts Point. If I was to rewind my life and consider that I would prefer to be at so and so's race event at such a such a spot back home that would be where I be now. Not in Hunts knotting people too stupid to leave trailer alone.RidgeRunner731, WesternPlains, Dave_in_AZ and 3 others Thank this. -
Drive Route One north out of Ellsworth. Your heading north correct? If you have a compass in the vehicle. Because of where we are, the magnetic bands say that your not heading north. Yet you are instead heading east. In some parts the magnetic distortion says you are heading east by south east, Hence the word "downeast".
We Mainiacs can have the most fun with people up here cant we? The joys of magnetic anomallies.
Also there are parts of route one that if your driving north and the sun should be at your back, why is it shining into your windshield? Grin, enjoy that one when you get here.RidgeRunner731, thelushlarry, WesternPlains and 4 others Thank this. -

When we flew long ago and I was working on learning how to go A to B with the maps, radio stack and DME etc in the right seat there was a certain amount of devitation from true compass North we had to add for washington Center above Camp David airspace which was our general part of the sky (Presidential and Permanent No fly ground to infinity marked on map above that place but we flew to and from a box of sky near Gettysburg for exercises and training near it along that range)
I think it was about 7 degrees more or less. If you tried to fly at heading 360 true then you would actually be a little west at about around roughly a heading of 353 or so. I'll have to double check and get current deviatations however it mattered because on the east we had KBWI Approach with plenty of heavy jets coming and going to the west of there and to the south we had Dulles and DC in particular. So we stayed north most of the time.
Today post 9-11 you are not coming upstairs off that little airport without Washington say so and flight plans etc. But once you are approved you can generally go about your flight as planned. However the skies are less open now.
Ive thought about brushing off those map skills out of Searcy where we have a nice little airport with instrument approach and frankly I decided not to do it. There is just way too much military activity out of Jacksonville to fool with among medical life flights and so on. There is like 40 helicopters taking people to and fro for care in our area within 30 minutes flight day and night. So.. it's not a good sky to learn on. I'll just poke on the computer with some sort of flight sim and call it a a day.
But that's magnetic deviation for you.RidgeRunner731, lovesthedrive, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -

I was just thinking the same thing. Coming home. I stopped for fast food. Girl was all kinds of weirded out. Look at her. She looked back all scared. Like I'm Godzilla or something?
I'm gonna have to move away from any served food. Just make whatever myself.
Tired of waitresses treating me like I"m there to serve them. yadda yadda...kemosabi49, D.Tibbitt, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this. -
One of the movies I laughed at when I recognized some of the street scenes was "Killer Clowns from Outer Space". Of course the town don't look the same after the Loma Prieta Shaker. The town finally had a good enough excuse to condemn all the old crappy buildings.x1Heavy and FlaSwampRat Thank this.
