Gonna get wrench take a more in depth look later this week.

It didn't do it after I got to shipper last night. Nor this morning. Just when I started up.

One thing I've learned is that catching or diagnosing something early on is really difficult when it comes to nuisance stuff.

Cause if it's not acting up when you go see wrench or try and chase it down, you just wind up chasing your tail.

Then when it does finally break, and it's like "ah ha", it's typically at a really f up location or time.

Spitter valve is stuck open, hopefully, I can find my fittings to bypass dryer. Should have bought a new one yesterday. Thought I had enough work to do, installing mufflers. Dave might want to at least change spitter and filter, or better yet the whole thing.

I go by wrenche's recommendations. We start cheap and obvious, and work our way up.

Very good info, but just wanted to let you know Meritor makes the TRP spin on cartridges and they have a P/N AC1000C out know that is oil coleasing one. Around $50 @ Pete or KW.

Seems the newer compressors May cost a lot more, but are cheaper to maintain. My case I need a whole new ad9. Got it bypassed, Luckily I found a 1/2” coupler. My question for anyone than knows, the small silver plastic air line going to govenor, I left it hooked to the dryer. Does it matter? Seems to operating correctly, now. Except secondary gauge is staying a little low. I must still have a small unrelated leak, somewhere. Nothing like breaking down on Sunday in the south. At least the weathers good. Lol

Lol, I’m tired. Doing my research, I found some info from one of the real Mechanics on here, about your dryer being easy to service, spin on filter, and swap out purge valve, sounds good to Me, anyway. I had only heard bad things prior, mainly cost and difficulty of changing govenor.

That maybe true, but I ran the TRP for years on the one 2008 I had and the first 2 years on the 2011/2012’s, I fought the DEF metering valve plugging, air tanks rusting, check valves failing.... but the air tanks dried up after making the change from TRP cartridge to Wabco-Meritor along with 90 percent of all the air system failures. Not just 1 truck, but All 16 of them.

The only issues I have with air systems now are from the trucks with drivers that don’t mention the giant air leaks they’ve had for 2weeks till I’ve already found it during their service.

I said $80, because I didn’t want to shock anyone that might walk up to a parts counter and ask for one. I just ordered 40 (enough for me and another shop) of the W-M cartridges for just over $50 from Freightliner.

The cartridges might be made in the same factory, but they are not made the same.

Yes, oil coleasing one just came out. I think your fleet is like mine with high air demand with dump trailers if I recall correctly. We change ours yearly.
