I'm funny about that whole "cop callin' thing". When he got out of his truck I would have probably put him out and tossed him in his bunk and tossed his keys onto the shoulder and split!

I have never called the cops in my life and I hope I never do...It just ain't my way.

Um, don't use names or any good identifying information? Seems pretty obvious to me on how to anonymize a story.

If the driver is impaired & you know it... Then like I said, it is your business. Alcohol & drugs impair a persons vision, reflexes, & reaction time. It's a danger...

Now if it is about HOS... There have been days that I only slept 3 hours & drove the other 21. If I'm not tired why should I force myself to go to sleep? But then their are days that I drive 3 & slept 21...

If he would have been drunk with a dead body in his cab would you have called the police?

Alcohol & drugs & sleep deprivation impair a persons vision, reflexes, & reaction time. ;)

Seriously though, I think they're both theoretically equally (too many -ly words) dangerous.

So what...If you're justified, What are you scared of?

The thought never entered my mind...I don't fear other men.

And like I said...Just say it!

I am aware of a man that no matter how far he drove, he would only list a 1 hour drive. He started and finished in the same city. If he went 700 miles, and came back, he would only log a 1 hour drive to a nearby city.
The boss man was well aware of it and did nothing. Thought it was funny. He turned in a log.
But, was it legal? No. Should anybody complain? To who? The company was already aware of it, and if D.O.T. showed up, what actual proof is there?
These trucks did not have Qualcomm's. Even those have their limits.
A big otr company uses Qualcomm's. Their system doesn't track your truck, unless you make an entry on the Qualcomm. The system will make a record of where you were on said date and time. If they needed to know where you were, they could pull you up and see, but their system would not record your movements unless you made an entry.
This was a few years back, don't know if it is still the same operating procedure now.

But, the way you come across in your posts, makes people not like you. You asked for their opinions. If you don't like what they have had to say, it is time to drop the subject.

I will tell you that I'm not proud of what I had done. I didn't want to be the one to blame for taking his paycheck away, losing his license or anything like that. And I'm really ashamed of the fact that I fell into the billy big rigger situation & pulled over to discuss our differences in a friendly manner.

I did what I did because I have family that lives in that vicinity of North Carolina. All I could think about was them getting wiped out by this drunken steering wheel holder.

Why did I just post that story... I normally keep it to myself. I posted it to hopefully prime the story out of this guy.

    It's easy to be anonymous.
