Honestly Im looking for something like a 92-96 F150 4x4 or Bronco, 2dr Tahoe/Yukon. Maybe a Jeep CJ7/Wrangler, 73-87 Chevy/Gmc trucks or Blazers in 4x4. Ive F'ed up over the years and sold all the ones I had and they're just getting harder to find anymore.
What if it Snows?

What you wrote right there... is so very true IMO....

My last company... the one I was before I came to Brasil.. is a great group of people.. small one but they do the best they can to accommodate their drivers. And if one drives like I did, one can make good money without being bothered.. like I did as an OTR driver. and I ended up winning prizes like "Best Driver of the Year in 2017" and "Most Miles Driven Safely" in 2 consecutive years... HOWEVER.... that cost me a price... my health....
not eating right, not sleeping right, not keeping a regular routine, running hard for nights and nights with no sleep and not much sleep during the day either, no exercise at all...
And no social life.... not to mention the stress.....
After 11 yrs of trucking I aged very quickly... and my health is showing problems because of that "lifestyle" if I can call it that way...
When I finally go back to the USA, I know my company will want me back right away... but I am giving it many second thoughts.... cause I must take better care of my health... and I can't run the way I was doing before....
I don't know yet what I am going to do... but maybe I should try something that give me the opportunity to get out of the truck more often and move more, and have more freedom to have some kind of life.... even if I don't make as much as I was before... I should slow down, eat better, sleep better and move around....RidgeRunner731, austinmike, WesternPlains and 3 others Thank this. -

Ive spent about 20 years now making repairs where possible. Unfortunately Ive got a sort of medical judgement day on the 8th. That is when the heart doctor puts me on the table to see whats what.
That day will end one of two ways. A bag of medicines, best wishes and home. Or in the UAMS downtown pending surgery to fix several known issues.
That is the price of trucking long haul with my body. Wear and tear leads to medical situations that may or may not be fixable. Some issues are not big of a deal because the bones and parts are replaceable as happened once already. Actually several times. Ive had 12 surgeries in the last 8 years. I can think of 5 more that probably will need to be done in the next 8.
It would be a good future to get back into it if there is one. We will find out next week which way it will go.
I consider myself one of the lucky ones. It's a process that took very big amounts of money and years with doctors. Ultimately most people would like to heal up and go back to work doing what they love to do. That I think is a good thing in life. If you can do it.
The other side is aging itself. Eventually stuff breaks in your body. Maybe bones, maybe eyes, maybe your nerves (Parkingsons etc) maybe palsy, maybe other functions as your organs fail slowly etc because you are getting old. Thats not for me. No way.RidgeRunner731, WesternPlains, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this. -
