I've got an application in with the big blue star, not sure what trailer to get.

53 lp on with 17.5 ramps and boxes is for sure.... Not sure if I should get a 3 axle like I had previously. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

On 17.5 rubber id suggest 3 axles unless youre strictly light and slow. On 22.5 id run a standard spread unless you are into OSOW and permits. JMHO, YMMV etc.

No but i only pulled it about 200 miles during cool weather and went real easy. Im told that its had THREE sets of tires due to blowouts, before my time. It has sat the entire 8 months or so i been there and im first to hook into it because my flat was down.

Its been converted to 8 lug 17.5s from standard axles by prior owner who i assume was setup for air handlers and such. Deck height is 36" but the ride height valve is set way high. I bet it can come down 4" or so without rubbing for lighter loads. Which are nonexistant in stone. 47k and up with lots of curbs and jack knifing.

If you’re talking about buying a trailer I’d go with the 53 lo pro.

As far as 3 axles, it can be hit and miss, sometimes more hit than miss or vice versa. But I’d encourage you to set yourself apart by going with a 3 axle

iirc, there is three different size 17.5's, the little 215 tires do not stand up to too much speed in my experience. They would hold up a load, just take it easy.
The 235 seems to do much better.

That was the big reason, and when a load pops up that pays to drop that axle I can grab it
