Man I’ve been good. Just been busy lately with the wife lately house hunting while I’m on the road at the same time. But other than that just another day at the office. Couple of crazy rain storms but nothing I haven’t seen before. So glad I decided to stay on this run and not jump back on that Chicago lane. I just have a funny feeling they are either going to cut that fourth team out because they don’t have enough freight because of the winter season or change that team to a different lane. Two times you don’t want to change lanes or routes is during winter season and election year. So I’m staying put lol

@Texas_hwy_287 it is slowly healing. The finger looks better today than it did 2 weeks ago, that's for sure.

I ended up with 52.5 hours this week. I'm doing most of the work (griping the steering wheel, messing with the landing gear, etc) with my right hand and trying not to bump my left hand (injured hand). Still no pain.

Im so glad that your injury is healing. Also at work I was given a peddle route that has nothing but country roads, man I love it so much especially when I go to customers that have cows and chicken roaming around:D. Im putting at least 240 miles a day.

Matt1924 and 88 Alpha Thank this.

No change of route here. I’m on a bid. All they can do is ask. Otherwise they will have to find somebody else to do it. I’m fine where I’m at

Oh yeah, doing pretty good. Was given my first raise last week so we’ll see what the pay is looking like. Now I have access to the benefits and such so that’ll probably cancel out those extra earnings this go around. Been doing a lot of city and a bit of hopping back and forth on others routes as they go missing on vacation, sick, etc. I’m getting better at backing up, probably done more in the last two months than my previous 15 years combined. Almost scary how simple it becomes, but I’ve always been wary of over- confidence. I’ve just learned to dot my I’s and cross my t’s while backing a little quicker. Is it bad that I get a bit giddy when I hit a dock somewhere and I’m dead on? I still enjoy that. Came to a shipper today where a UPS, Estes, and ODFL we’re already docked. I could feel them eyes just staring at this blue Volvo wondering if IT knew what the hell it was doing...well it wa fun to say the least. Had a decent short convo with OD man and wa a bit disappointed when he told me what they were paying and the expectations they had. They top out over 3 more an hour than we do plus get overtime and work much less dock. I’m not one to complain too much but hey, I’ve always liked green uniforms... Other than just a bit of my day, I’m so busy anymore it’s tonight to even get online I’m trying to stay informed and be an active member. Glad to read you guys are generally doing okay, routes are decent, hours aren’t too bad, and injuries are healing.

Yea I felt the same way when I hear about them other companies are paying but on the other hand they are never hiring. At least not in my area and if they are it’s very hard to get on. My dad works for FXF and been there for 22 years and I still couldn’t get on there with them. Even with the overtime pay I come out better here. Them guys who do over time don’t realize that it goes to Uncle Sam. So it kind of evens out. But I’m glad you having a great time. Let me tell you it’s been so long since I’ve backed a trailer. I bet everyone would be staring and pulling out the camera and putting me on YouTube. Pulling doubles I just move forward and turn left and right lol.

Hope all you guys are doing well! We're starting to feel the wintertime crunch coming on. Our hours are being throttled and today a man was asked to stay out. I'm in line next, and I'll say that never in my entire adult life have I been asked to stay home due to lack of work. Not sure how I'll react when my number comes up, and I'm sure it will. All in all though, things are going pretty good. Still managing to learn more routes and customers. As a city P&D driver, the other day I ran out a bit and knocked out about 16 deliveries and 5 pickups on about 150 miles. Felt like I was over the road again! Just terrible, I tell ya! How are you all doing?

My local gig is still running strong. I put in 64.5 hours last week and one of those days I had to use the 16 hour exception due to a blow-out on the trailer.

There's talk about cutting us back a few hours a week and quite frankly, I wouldn't mind that.
