T Mo has a discounted over-55 program which might be of interest. Being a slight underdog I think they have a little more interest in customer service.

Also, you can get a Mint Mobile trial for $5, they are an MVNO under T Mo with low prices but no high GB accounts, but they would be a cheap way to check coverage. The kit comes with two SIM cards so you can try one, then use the other to port your number if you want to. I'm thinking that's a cheap date.

I've gotten my unlimited internet set up. I had been putting off rooting my phone as when I got it I forgot the necessary step that wipes the data. So I backed up, rooted, and restored. Now I'm running a VPN with VPN Hotspot on android and downloaded 30GB at full speed last night. One thing to note about VPN Hotspot is that you need to disable hotspot hardware acceleration for it to work. Once the hotspot is up, you just flip the switch with the ip information and you're good to go.

What did you use to back up? That's what's in my way.

I noted down the apps that I needed to ensure backups of 2FA or accounts, or data, made a list of apps installed as some weren't from the play store, then copied all files, excluding the com.*/Android/data folders as those are not transferable, to my computer. Just make sure your stuff is backed up to google and it'll automatically come back. The exception being texts and phone records. If you don't have a more recent version of android you can follow guides on how to use ADB backup to do that manually.

I was actually shocked to find out that adb push was SIGNIFICANTLY faster at copying files to the phone and I would guess adb pull would be as well. When I was copying the files to the computer from the phone it took an hour and a half at about 50MB/s for large files. adb push took about 10 minutes at 170MB/s. I was so shocked that I spent the next 15 minutes making sure it didn't miss something.

Just like hyperloop it's another of Musk's ungrounded dreams. Not likely to be anything but a curiosity.

And Hyperloop has a steel tube in the desert that's rusting away. Musk is a big talker. Oh, and the Boring Company has a glorified propane torch and a bumpy tunnel that cost more to make than to use the already established tunneling companies.
