Yup and in 4yrs here with millis I cant think of a time I've been lied to about anything. My dispatcher is always upfront and honest with me and will give me a heads up if I'm going into a slow freight area just so I can expect a lil wait. I've been thanked several times by different people in our office for getting a hot load somewhere on time or doing what I've been asked even if i really dont want too.

Yes the pay here is good, but its all the other things they do that adds up to showing respect for us, and listening to us that is a huge factor into our low turnover rate. Guys leave, but a lot like myself and @JOHNQPUBLIC and others come back.

My dad drove for 28yrs and everytime I mention "well i was looking at such and such company " he tells me before you do something you better stop and look realllll hard about how good you have it. Hes amazed at the way I'm treated and the way things are done here for us. Several times he's told me if he wasn't retired hed be joining me....but then he says his recliner is way to comfy to get him back behind the wheel lol

I have 19 months experience and I’m located in Atlanta, GA. I am currently employed with a staffing agency who have me sitting with no assignment right now because they have none available. I have all endorsements, twic card, no accidents. Things are slow around this time of year I understand, but I’m getting tired of sitting at home and would like to get back in a truck.

How do you guys handle getting fuel and rewards for free showers and stuff. Just requested a manual fuel solution because I was not going to make cville. I'd prefer a Pilot since I've already started building up gallons there this month...what do I get? That jammed up Love's in Charleston, TN...and fill ... Even though I'll be in cville later...I guess now it will be a race between loves and pilot. At least sitting here at the Love's won't hurt my 14. Unless the guy in front of me decides to abandon his truck, haha.

Are you signed up for the rewards cards for the big truck stop chains? The Petro/TA one is pretty much useless because we rarely get a fuel solution for there, but you need the ones for Love's and Pilot/Flying J because that's how you get your shower credits.

I spoke with a lady named Peggy and she told me that she could have me processed tomorrow for orientation on Monday in Cartersville, GA. They don't have any OTR positions available right now, but she did have regional and I'm going to take that because I need some form of income coming in. I just hope I can still make good coin doing regional vs. OTR. However, I will be planning to put a year in here and eventually move to LTL because that's where my heart is truly set at, but nothing LTL is hiring at this time.

Peggy is the right person to talk to for sure. GA regional stays pretty busy for the most part. OTR in GA this time of yr slows down, but as long as you arent looking for 3000+miles a wk you should be fine. Im guessing you'll be anywhere between 2300-2700 most wks and possibly thru the house a night or 2 for a 10.

That sounds fantastic! I’m actually excited about the opportunity to get back out there on the open road since I’ve been local and dealing with this ATL traffic for the past year lol. The only thing that could suck is driving from Atlanta to Cartersville every week because it’s an hour and half drive, but I’ll only be driving there and back so it’s not too bad.

@keen98 what route do you take from Memphis to cold spring brew?

Also think I have finally put my Rochester phobia to rest. Got door 82 yesterday and just breezed right in. It’s not as tight as it looks just got to take it slow.

Well i usually come home from Memphis on the way there. But if going straight there from Memphis I'd take 55 up to St Louis then hop on 61North and run that up to 380 in Cedar Rapids it will turn into 218 thru Waterloo over to 18 and follow that over to 35 North. Pretty good running going that way

Will bring you into Minneapolis on the south side and just hop on 494 over to 94.
