Driving a 2017 Volvo780 with factory antennas and was having some issues with what I thought was from the right side antenna.

I install a single post mount driver side top of mirror with new 6 foot, might be 9 foot, cable. Tried one of the Volvo factory antennas, a 4 foot fire stick as well as a 5 foot fire stick, both with adjustable tops, and no matter what I still get the E4 warning for high SWR reading.

Can someone please give me some ideas on how to resolve this problem.

    Thank you

(Note as of this posting I will be driving all night, so it maybe 11 hours before I can reply back)

Surprises no on replied to this. The fix to resolve this was to use an 18 foot cable.

If coax length fixes yer prob, then you have issues elsewhere and coax is disguiseing it....
I would peel off the front of the mirror and replace the gnd strap, change factory ant stud..Try and see again..Get an ohm meter and do some testing..Be sure to leave ant side of coax hooked up..
Wouldnt be a bad idea to get a few gnd straps and connect both sides of the door hinge useing the hinge bolts..One end of strap to door side of hinge and other to cab side of hinge(bonding)..As wide as you can find and try to keep it as short as needed..

I honestly dont know how to use an ohm meter. I had a 6 foot cable on it with a single stud, and one of my 4 foot firestick antennas and couldn't get rid of the swr warning. I called the CB guy that I trust and he told me the problem is the length of cable. He sort of explaind why, but I just heard change to the 18 footer. It fixed my problem. Later on I can see about taking the mirror apart. Thank you for that advice.

Coax length will never be a fix...
Youtube is your friend re how to do things....In your case search on you tube "how to use a multi meter"
Another site to help with stuff is k0bg.com
You will have to learn some things on your own but there is tons of bs out there to but lotsa good know how on here as well..Dont be afraid to ask people for their thoughts on an issue..

Now re the error code, contact stryker and ask if they can tell you specificly what that error is and maybe ask if the have a pdf of the error codes..

Did a quick search and the e4 is a high swr code..
I would also search for cord thats built specifically for stryker radios that plugs in the back of your radio and a pc/laptop..
You can make changes to the radio as you see fit..Just dont tinker with what you dont know...The cord is about $20 i think..

Useing the multi meter will tell you if you have a bad piece of coax, soldering issues and grounding(ground plain not electrical)

Dumb question but are you sure your selector knob hasn't been flipped to 10-meter frequencies? I'm not sure what the controls look like on that model
