i seem to remember the inframe on mine being somewhere more around 20k new heads pistions liners injectors counter bores cut and re shimmed and a few other misc items.

sounds more like what they quoted you for was a re-mack crate engine. i seem to remember being quoted somewhere around 18- ish for a re-mack engine if you did new injectors and turbo at the same time. you got i think a 3 year unlimited millage warranty then you would also have labor of removing and installing the engine and swapping over all the accessory's ect. 34k still sounds a little high but you do tend to run into quite a few while your there items on a job like that.

i think i would ask for a itemized quote on that and see what exactly they are quoting you on before doing anything.

 

If you want to know the price of the kits call the parts department rather than service

 

Talk to the guys at Rochester diesel and Antrim. Both very knowledgeable about Mack and could Give you a rough estimate. 34k seems on the extreme high end.

If you do have mack do it they're gonna sneak in a low nox file if its not already in it.

While your at it replace the restrictive stock turbo with a S467 or s475 (171702) and larger injectors if you wanna wake up the puppy.
