Have thought about that so many times... however, local means city driving... which I find very stressful.... and plenty of stops... and many backings every day...
That's a very tiresome job... and not having anybody at home to clean, cook and do the shopping, etc, etc... :biggrin_25513:
OTR is the only truck driving job that I like doing....
But I am considering some dedicated account... lots of things to consider...

    Man you’re lucky.

I just stand in the 400 degree asphalt at work when it’s below 40 degrees just to warm up. I’m not meant for mn.

I think working in 130 degree kitchens my whole life made me not mind heat one bit.

So I have three marker lights on the old cornbinder that are out. Tear into them, no power to any of the three. WTF?

Pull the front passenger side one out and find a broken wire. A HA! Yeah...... not so much. That was the wire for the blinker that broke when I pulled the marker light cover off.... Yup, that's how my day went.

Blinker is working again. None of the marker lights are. Three hours of chasing electrons, and I haven't caught one yet.....

Heck with it. Took the two rear marker lights off the truck and drove home. Even with Elogs, outlaw &%# happens........

Columbia used to maintain a ice rink for us kids at the state school. We are bused over there mornings when no one else is there. OTHER than the Usual staff.

From what I am taught it's coils of ammonia under that ice. And a Zamboni liquifies a thin layer on top from time to time and scrapes it really smooth.

It must take a one hell of a heat exchanger in the summer time. Not to mention the air conditoning that is essentially free with that much frozen in the building. Chills you right through.

As you skate on that ice inside the rink, pause from time to time and "Feel" through your blade to see if there is any "Bubbling" going on inside the coils under you. That would be the time to go ahead and call it a day and pack up to go.
