You want honesty? You got it. You’re never going to be happy anywhere. I’ve known you 5ish years you’ve had I don’t know how many jobs and your always looking for the next one. You’re a grown man with responsibilities and it’s not up to me to tell you what to do but it might be time to grow up and settle down a little. From what I can tell you have a good solid job that’s largely recession proof and a family counting on you. The perfect job doesn’t exist.

It’s not the worst thing in the world. Some of us are well paid to pull vans. ;)

Pretty much the same here. Senator Jim Inhofe's brother owns the cdl rental trucks in Tulsa.

with the right company it can be good. I’ve pulled a dry van for two different companies the last was a good job while it lasted. Private fleet for a family owned newspaper . We had dedicated loads from another shipper (Hobby Lobby) for our outbound then 99% of the time we loaded our rolls of newsprint to bring back. Could sometimes go months and never see or hear from the boss since we came and went in the evening our trip sheets with all pertinent information were left on the clipboard laying on the drivers seat. As far as anyone including our senior driver who had been there 37 years could remember the company had never had to run an add for drivers only post it on company bulletin board but generally just telling the drivers and mechanics about an upcoming opening due to someone retiring was all it took to get several applicants.

The bad part is there aren’t very many of them type companies left out there anymore.

Getting back to the van conversation we do well outbound with seeds and feed.

Getting back to the midwest is where I usually take it in the shorts.

Too many folks out here that will haul for nothing and the brokers know it.

Well, my daughter's team lost their last softball game. They were 4-1 for the season. She played catcher and got a force out at home in the last inning. Her coach said in three years of coaching, she's never seen a catcher do that.

She ended the season batting .800 I'm a proud dad for how hard she has worked for never having played softball.

Talking about vans, which van freight is virtually recession proof? Which van freight isn’t subject to rate cutting which is the usual reason the “good” van jobs go away and the reason that the megas dominate that sector. Even LTL is cyclical particularly if you’re the new guy.
