Truck driving school

    Not sure if this is the right place for this.....Just got my spot reserved for truck driving school. I start class 12/9/19. Im working on seeing if the VA Vocational rehab program will pay for it...If not I will put it on credit card. I already have my CDL permit with all the endorsements...Im anxious to get started.

    I really like the idea of going to a private school....I didnt want to be obligated to a mega carrier and getting stuck with them for a year or more.

    Anyone else going to be starting truck driving school soon?

    Start contacting companies as early as the first day of school.
    Which town are you near in Oregon?
    Any idea what type trucking you want?

    Im in Medford, OR. Im open to anything from local to 11 western states...I have no desire to go to the east coast at this time.

    Thank you Chinatown for your kind words and help.

    I also saw the entire called trucking schools and CDL training forum....maybe one of the moderators can move this for me.

    I'm not a relative of @MrEd, no LOL! My nickname is Ed, like the horse, and my children's friends have all always called me Miss Ed :)

    As far as choosing a company, I haven't really. I am a single, work-at-home mom with 2 teenagers, and while my ultimate goal is OTR, I need to stay local until my youngest graduates in 2-1/2 years.
    I've heard that most companies won't hire newbies for local driving here in Eastern NC.
