I turned my keys in. Bunch of narrow minded self serving excuses fed to me. Still definitely have a job if I ever want to come back. Met him at the lot. So...
After doing all that on my car. Struggling.... It's now a stinking mess.

Chicago is having ice, sleet and snow today as I write this all day.
A short while ago a Embraer ERJ-145 model airliner (Aka Rocket Ship, cruises above most other airliners at around 45000 feet and very close to mach 0.87 in other words, it can get to Chicago in 40 minutes from Little Rock where a 737 needs a hour and change to do the same trip. So slow) Ny figures are from both memory and tracking of one particular plane with family aboard on that run, I still have screenshots of that tracking data and can transfer to this computer and prove my figures.
Anyway. Approch and landing was relatively routine except that O'Hare usually has a little bit shorter runways (Around 6000 feet, enough for really big heavies to need short field procedures to get down and stopped quick.) this video shows the plane's reversers are out and the spoilers back down into the wing indicating that she has already slowed to around maybe 80 or less trying for a high speed turn off on that runway ice. It probably did not weight much above say 38000 pounds gross, (Empty weight is around 34300 for payload of 50 souls and not too much fuel to get 1300 km plus two hours reserve) so MTOW would be around 42000 give or take (Not much heavier than some of the newer business jets coming out like the GS 800...)
She tried to make the turn with that nose wheel but had WAY too much speed inducing a centrifigural sideways force that just shoved the whole thing side ways regardless of what the pilots wanted. What are they thinking trying to take a turn at 70+? in a 50,000 pound vehicle no less on way fewer and crappy tires than we have. (Those tires only know two things. How not to blow up at 200 mph and how to make the stop on hot ceramic burning brakes at landing without blowing up.)
They did it too much by the book. I would have still had the reversers in trying for say 30 mph before that turn off. I don't think there was enough runway at the end beyond the stroke warning light for overrun. (You do NOT want to get on that, materials making those sections will "Sink" your plane up to it's belly if possible.)
But hey don't listen to a non pilot idiot like myself. See for yourself.

Searcy is expecting one inch tonight sometime. It will snow along 40 but wont accumulate. Grounds not cold enough. What it WILL do is sleet and freezing rain at sunset or a hour after. Give or take 7 PM tonight. The temperature will be below freezing by 7:30 and either Zero in Fayetteville by dawn tomorrow or 9 degrees here in White County by then.
Essentially annoying little winter pinch. Nothing to get excited about. IT WILL stay below freezing pretty much rest of the week. That would prove to us how well our Electric company has been trimming trees like they promised for years. Those who are not trimmed will be out of juice before too long.D.Tibbitt, WesternPlains and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
