I appreciate everyone responding... So I thought I posted what ended up happening but I forgot. Anyhow it was just far enough off the road to not drag, so I got tired of messing with it and finished taking it the way it was. Then I took it a day or two later to the shop... I ran that trailer for a about a week (a few loads they have 4 other trailers they load into) and I’ll be ###### if about a week later the same leg on the same trailer didn’t roll back up after I dumped it.

I was afraid they were gonna think I dropped it or did something wrong to break it, or be mad at me, but when I took it back they actually apologized after and said they had missed a bearing the first time they fixed it, and had they gotten that the first time I wouldn’t have had an issue the second time. So long story short it got fixed and it’s been working fine and I’m happy.

I will definitely take the advice to double check things, especially after they’ve been worked on.

Always take pics of damage ect before you touch it if possible...Even do a short vid and save it if they give you static...

This is where a pipe wrench comes in handy.

Agreed. At my former employer I’ve had a trailer where moisture/condensation got into the gearbox and caused the gears to rust and seize up,preventing the landing gear from either being extended or retracted, and that was even when said former employer sent out a technician to look at the issue!

“let the owners fix it” is kind of a tough one with this company tho. I’m just the new guy still with this company I’ve only been with a few months... they did end up fixing (actually the mill owns the trailer not my company) but my company fixed it anyway, but I had to take the trailer a two hour drive up to them... wait a few days because they were running loads in it after they fixed it, then go the 2 hour drive back up to get it. Not being paid for that part of course, and being short a trailer at the mill so I had to run as hard as I could to make sure they stayed okay. A little bit of a pain in the neck to say the least.
