As long as you end up somewhere pulling reefers, you should be ok. Decks, Dry Van and LTL highway work are done for, all 3 will be in a full blown recession in the coming months.
You definitely want reefer, you don’t want to do it at Bison or Arnold Bros.
Challenger is still and option (reefer fleet), ERB/Kdac, Versacold, IHaul, TransX/CanXpress (again US reefer fleet only).dancecanyon and 6rider Thank this. -
trucking has to go hourly or salary to attract new drivers. I don’t recommend it for anyone who has high expenses. I don’t have an apt, just a storage locker, and I didn’t even have a personal vehicle for a couple of years—just bought one two months ago. I paid off all my debts and have been banking funds while paying for a university degree online.....and I really dig the lifestyle.
but most people don’t want to live like I do and that’s fair in a developed country as the Canada/us.
Once this recession turns around, the industry is going to have to re-examine its practices. It can’t depend on the foreign worker program forever....or waste cases who just bounce from one place to the next.BigHossVolvo and Phantom Trucker Thank this. -
That said, they’re still a good company with good safe practices and a very sound work culture environment.
i came over to them last year with five years experience, flat deck division, and will likely remain here until I decide to get out of trucking....or go o/oBigHossVolvo Thanks this. -
Anyone have experience with DRAKKUR? They do the hourly drivers for XTL? $23/hr to start

Still the best option of all the megas tho imho. Going O/O is suicide now, esp with all the new taxes and the US exchange rate.dancecanyon Thanks this.
