I attribute that to drivers with half-ask setups. Little stock radio with little 2 or 3' antennas.
I will observe my 655 for the next couple weeks and tell you if I see similar activity

Tim..Thats another good comment sir..I have seen that the odd time out on the road..
Add a 2'-3' ant to an already poor factory set up doesnt allow for quality or range both tx/rec.. -

Is your rf gain turned up and squelch down??
So if others can hear and not you then most likely your radio...WHY NOT Thanks this. -
Well, you're right about that of course. I was thinking a regular 4W CB with the little amplifier with pre-amp to talk and hear. -

Awwwww gotcha.. -
My Stryker 955 works best with the Volume 100%, Squelch set full noisy and the RF gain backed off from 100% until it just barely makes a hiss.
With it set like that I can hear folks as far as I am going to hear them. For the lower power radios they come in rather quite but can be heard by turning the RF gain up a tad more. -
My rf gain @100%,squelch just up enough to get rid of noise and volume at 25%-50%
Meteorgray Thanks this. -
I'd prefer to set it like that.
I bought mine used and repaired so possibly someone has tuned it incorrectly.
Or my 2ft Firestick simply doesn't have the receive.
