Everybody goes about life different, I would have ulcers if I worried about all the what if's, that can possibly come up in life.
I’m a moron, over on hours.

Hi everyone! I have a question for you all. My husband has driven a truck for over 25 years with no tickets, no accidents, etc. He has used paper logs, AOBRDs and the much hated ELD. He went to a mega carrier to work (and yes he does understand ELD's) and was written up twice already for HOS violations. They just were nasty over it because their CSA scores are low now. First was because he clocked in and then went to his truck and logged into QUALCOMM. The QUALCOMM evidently synced with the time clock (backwards) and logged him to work a couple of minutes early. He was told that this was a HOS violation and wrote him up. Second he was on his 30 minute DOT break and moved his truck (under 5mph) forward to give someone else room to park and he was written up again because his company said that QUALCOMM logged him back onto duty and they couldn't fix it. The first one, I guess it could happen but it was only a couple of minutes (is there any buffer?) and the second, he was doing a yard move under 5mph. Do you all know why? Is it something QUALCOMM does automatically? My husband is very upset and I am too, to the point he is going to quit. How will this affect his driving record so he can quit?

Shoot, damage was done. Should have rolled to the shop.
your call though, you drive your truck not me. -
This shouldn't even be an issue or even talked about- Almost feels like he committed a crime by moving a truck. What has this world come to? everything's Drama and has to prelude to an issue.
I still use paper logs-And make decisions with common sense and knowledge.....
You cant even Live Life anymore without "something" like this getting in your way.
He moved the truck to be courteous...Yet the Dummies in your husbands safety dept can't acknowledge that....
Not even worth it to spend another minute with a carrier like that- Let your husband work Better in a better light....FlaSwampRat and mtlemmon Thank this. -
It has nothing to do with his driving record.
Just chalk it up as a learning experience.
My logs were on computer. Before the mandate. Never had any inspection problems. But somehow, office always found things wrong.
I don't have to worry about it anymore.
Local work. It's the sheet.mtlemmon and stayinback Thank this. -
#1...technically yeah since you're supposed to log what you do & do what you log...but it's all them, not DOT. They don't have time clock records on the side of the road.
#2 is a load of crap all the way around.
This co. has there QC settings put the max which is stupid.
He needs to find another job.Last edited: Nov 14, 2019
