Good to hear fozzy. Is it true about no jakes for the 1st six months?

I am fortunate all my lady friends are not single and all my of good friends are not either. If I had a g/f and she was cheating, I might ask my friends to confirm while i am out on the road and get proof. Then I would come home unannounced if said proof was confirmed and dump her plus pack up my stuff.

I don't have any info other than rumor on the jake/CC right now. Once I get a definitive answer, I will post it. I do kind of like going down hills at 18 mph though.

    Not really...it does happen.

It happened to me (but I wasn't surprised, I already had it figured out)

There are so many people out there that bash a company or continue to say bad things about a company. If you dislikes are more than your dislikes then move on. Quit the company your with and leave the parking lot with your wheels squelling. But make sure you give the hand that fed you a good notice, follow their respective quitting policy and return any and all equipment.
Here is my opinion on Stevens Transport.

They are a great company. They have a training regiment that is known throught the US and with most major trucking insurance companies they have a great record. People gripe about the cost. Take this example lets say the company charges 15$ hour times 120 hours that is 1800$ in its self just to pay one guy to teach you. Since no one knows anything each class is assigned three teachers. Now 1800 x's 3 = 5400$. Now we havent included at least one recruitor to recruit you. One mechanic to repair the truck you were out while training. At least two hundred gallons of fuel you alone will burn which will cost 600 (fuel) + recruitor + mechanic we can say for short that all those three will be 1800 $ for three weeks. That along is 7200 dollars if I am not mistaken. But then you have incidentals lights, water, property payments etc. So you see your really getting a deal. If not then why not pay the three thousand up front and you will not have to pay any more cost. And most of the time you can agree to pay less if your willing to pay lump sum.
They have a very high success rate for passing scores at DPS vs other companies in the local area that train drivers. The company provides you money up front for food 70$ a weeks which is ten dollars a day which all you need is thirty if you will go to Wal_mart and shop for the week.
They are a school at first not an employer, so they are under no obligation to pay you anything.
No the recruitor doesnt get extra for getting you there. They actually get reprimended for having someone come and then to drop for any reason. I ahve listened to many pitch calls and everything told was the truth.
I have heard students gripe because they were subsequently dropped after arriving at the school. It is always the students fault because you fail to either bring a required document for dps, you lied about something that showed on your background check, or you didnt disclose previous driving exp. which is required to be disclosed by DOT.
Stevens does put out alot to get you hired. Wether you want to agree or not. All they ask for in return is for 1 year of employment and 1200 dollars which is taken out at 25 a week.
They focus alot on safety in the classroom, on the track, on the road, when you do OR I, OR II, GRad I, GRad II, Grad III, when your company or when your lease, whether you got 1 year or twenty years.
You could have been with any other company out there. Doesn't mean that you have driven over any mountain or through any region or through New York. I know drivers that have had co-drivers or team drivers all their career and never have backed up to a dock, or drove down any mountain, or through rush hour traffic.
You have to remember the sole reason anybody is in business is to make money. Having drivers getting tickets, wrecks, or other incidents cost the company millions in litigation.
Stevens provides their company drivers with mechanics, new equipment, above average miles per load, and a slew of support personeel. Yes they ahve people whose job is to shut you down, But the only time they shut you down is when you have violated company police, or any local, state or federal law or if they catch you trying to skirt the law or skim the books by compressing.
I find it amazing to stand in compliance hear the drivers try to plead their case. Well I felt like driving my whole eleven but then there was no where to park so I had to run over. So I marked my log as i ran only ten hours. but the qualcom says your ran 12. There is never a valid reason at Stevens Transport to run over your 11.
Stevens is a family oriented company. They do provide perks for their drivers. They have a lady that comes and cuts hair for free on fridays, there are the food vendors who charge below average for some good food that is cooked on the spot. They provide free washers and dryers for the drivers. A lounge that has two tv rooms with free wifi access. But these are the things you wont hear about because people want to cry about what they dont have.
A company isnt their to provide all the perks. When they have them it is nice. When they dont they dont.
Stevens have been in business for over twenty years. He must be doing something right. He has had people here for most of that time. If you feel you dont belong their is nothing holding you back. We may be paid less but we earn more in the end because we have more loads and more miles than any other company.
You should treat Alliance leasing like you would any other business venture. If you dont know what your getting into then dont. It is a business that you must run. You must dedicate yourself to it.
I know drivers who make very good money with it, get home often at least 7 days every 35 days, enjoy it, and have fun doing it. Only because they run it like any other business more money coming in than money going out for the business.
The company has very strict policies, so would I if I had a corporation. Stevens should make drivers dress casual professional while on the yard. which means Long Pants, with dress shirt. Hair groomed, face groomed, males with no jewerly, females with limited jewerly, fingernails cut, sneakers if they compliment, otherwise dress shoes. Because they are again a corporation and your a :biggrin_25519: Professional Driver

No jake OR CB when goign that slow. We are not supposed to exceed 35 MPH down any major mountain. 5th or 6th gear in an 8 speed with the jake, stab breaking.

Fozzy, can you post pictures of interior of your truck? I would like to see some pics. Also, does Stevens allow Tv's, inverters, and pets?
