Also somethings you dont really got to worry about that solo drivers do.

Traffic isnt a big deal, if you dont make it your partner takes over and finishes. A solo guy might want to consider his hours and adjust his plans. Team you just go. Dont worry about it.

My first partner was from the middle east, he had a hard time understanding some things. He would check my miles I drove and would see like 200 miles since midnight on the Qualcomm. He didnt understand he had to look at yesterday's date to see I drove 620 or whatever. Lol so I had to deal with that whining.

One time my partner tried to take a right off a busy road and couldnt make it. I got woken up by his frantic cries for help. So I'm trying to get dressed and hes yelling at me to hurry up. I get out to spot him out of there. Trucker behind us decides to assist. Partner has issues backing out. Trucker starts yelling at me.

I'm getting yelled at both ways and I didnt do anything. Just got torn from my sheets after the fact. That was rich.

If you have the right co driver you can keep rolling as a team. Otherwise you will find yourself waiting around at truck stops too often.

    It depends.
Are you sure you can sleep in a moving truck?
Are you afraid to back and need someone to do it for you?
You need to try both and decide afterwards.

Depends how much you like living (smelling) with another ...............man. For weeks on end in a space smaller than your bathroom.

    Solo is way better.

If you teamed with a wife that is also CDL or a close relative or similar situation its pretty good if you two are a good team.

Teaming with strangers reveals way too many issues. Not the least of which is the necessity to maintain a level of disinfecting and order in that cab and sleeper as well as hygene. Humans are filthy by nature, but that does not mean it needs to be so in that small space. A clean orderly truck is a happy truck and instantly shows DOT that you take pride in your work.

What I refuse to tolerate is three drivers to a truck. In addition to robbing Tare weight capability its a form of greed showing.

Team has its benefits. You rarely have to worry about parking. Solo, you have to make it somewhere you can park before everything is full.
Teams, each person has their strengths. I'm good at paperwork, and hes better at backing.
    You always have a spotter.
If something goes wrong, you have 2 brains to figure it out.
If the freeway closes unexpectedly, you have someone who can help you detour. For example, the president was in el Paso, so a lot of roads to the airport were closed. We had to navigate around to the other side of town and take some back roads in to deliver right next to the airport.
Total miles divided by 2 is 6000 miles a week you get paid for.
Sure, you can have issues with living with a stranger in tight quarters, but you dont spend a lot of time awake together. You just need to take the time to ask a lot of questions, and be willing to communicate like adults. Remember, it's a team. No team works unless all players work for the benefit of the whole team.

Team you have the potential of making more money. Also if the driver knows their way around, you may be the one doing nothing more than driving.

Solo your the only one in the truck. Its your home and you dont need to worry about some one tossing your stuff while you sleep because whom ever went mental. As Dave said above. Your in a closet and you need to put up with them and their attitudes. As well as their gear.
