You were right. Reclocking the pressure plate was the easiest way.
Yesterday we got a new 3/4 shift fork in, the fingers were worn down about .090" from new thickness so that should help. We are gonna continue to run this trans until it lets go i guess. I showed boss [owner] the worn innards and made him decide so that i am held harmless. There is a lot of backlash in that 8th gear and sliding clutch when theyre engaged together. If hes okay with it im okay with it.
Today waiting on the spool valve behind the A5000 slave valve, mine was bent. Also need the O ring for the steering pump mount. I helicoiled the stripped thread in that yesterday and partner took the opportunity to fix some rubbed up fuel hoses while there was clearance. We did passenger rear motor mount too. Almost had new muffler up but the chair bracket we had on the shelf was a Right, need a left.
A mil and three quarter on this engine mount.

Being that close, I don't think I would give a dam about her eyes.

I also save money by doing the welding myself, that hitch can double as a desk lamp arm. You're getting there, keep listening to 1951 Ford's welding advice..

Fighting a couple gremlins.... had to do some thinking and looking but figured out what caused a “close call” for me!
Had a valve stem break just below the keepers, valve dropped but piston smacked it back up numerous times before it fell through the guide. This broke 1/2 the guide off and battered the broke edge of the stem.... ( thank God!! ) the battered edge held the valve in the head. Talk about a head scratcher..... how do you get it home over 200 miles on its own power in this shape...???? Anyone????
Well I did! Took a little thinking but I made it run on 6 cylinders still and drove her home!!
Number 3 intake valve... 1 of 2 intakes for that cylinder with a broken stem, how do you make it run on 6 cylinders and drive it over 200 miles...??
I’ll let y’all think about this, what would y’all do?
Keep in mind only the first 1/2” of the stem is missing, and the crosshead is broke.
To be continued.......
