At the best a normal run takes 200 gallons, but the same run gets close to three at times.. Some of the guys can't get back without buying fuel, and it is spendy at coldfoot or prudhoe, like at least another 2 bucks. lol

My truck has 200 gal. I can add another 75 gal, but I would have to remove a catwalk bracket. What’s worse is I’ll have to worry more about being overweight. I haul reefer, and many loads are heavy.

Never have personally. They are there at times, but I have never seen one.
When running Exxons ice road, they put fake ones out, You have to call in on the radio anytime you see one, and if you don't call when you pass a fake one, it is your last trip. lol

Why in the hell do they do that? To make sure you’re awake?

I'm paranoid about fuel spills, and my regular truck only has 2 65-gallon tanks anyway. I just fill one at a time, doesn't increase my time at the pump much and I'm virtually guaranteed to not have a spill (barring a heart attack anyway).

To keep drivers from driving around one when there is one, you are suppose to park, radio in and wait till a crew of natives they have employeed just to move animals. Apparently polar bears will lay down and go to sleep in the road sometimes. I have never seen it, but don'tr un it any more than I have to, doubtful I ever will put up with the hassle to ever again.

Sounds like a pain in the ###.

you like driving in alaska? I’m sure it’s pretty cool but I couldn’t deal with that cold and nothing working becasue a of it...

Aren’t you in logging now? I could imagine that’s a lot better than running in the tundra.

You can’t go wrong with bungie cords. I started using them when I bought my truck some 3 years ago. They have never failed me.

I probably should have been running the log truck, while my road truck is down. They called and wanted me to and I pulled it in and got it ready, just too lazy I guess, I couldn't get in to it. I like running it, but it really does not pay as good as even driving a company truck. Logs are just not worth much here. I offered to loan it to my old log boss, but he never came got it.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
