Unfortunately, too many people get cranky when you don't use them. How I long for the (cough, cough) good old days.

Slowpoke KW, Feedman, sawmill and 15 others Thank this.

My parents had a giant carved, novelty wooden spoon and fork. Gotta be at least 28" long. Lets just say the concave surface of the spoon is a perfect match for an 8 year old's backside.......

You know I more than once watched a group of fireman come out of a burning building. Just to step behind a engine and remove air pack to light up a cig.

    Seemed funny to me.

I understand. When a mustache was your filter and you knew to back out when your ears were burning.

I did that a time or two in my younger years. The irony begs questioning.

Some guys carried a small piece of sponge (dishwashing type sponge) they would wet down and put in the mouths to filter out the smoke.
My upper lip hasn't seen sunshine since I was 18, I'm now 47. Part of the long standing mustache is tradition and part of it is to see how long I can go with it.
