Dropped in Rome and got stuck trying to snag an empty and high hooked it. Was dark still at 0630 so hard to see. Thought I would need a tow, but Travis at the shop said to throw chains on the drives and drop the air bags and raise the trailer. Two out of three done. Guess what I didn't do? Got right out and backed in at an angle and got the empty and went onto to Calhoun GA for some flooring to deliver to Menards in Sullivan, MO tomorrow. No reload of yet and won't have many hours left on my 70. Oh, and my dispatcher is off until the 20th. Hmmmm.

Everyone has high hooked a trailer, when it happens I drop my air bags, find something to put under the back of the fifth wheel to lean it down on the front and you usually can correct the mistake. Be safe my friend.MidWest_MacDaddy, mushroom1464 and gntorres61 Thank this.

I high hooked once, and now to avoid it, when I back up to a trailer if I don't feel the fifth wheel hit the apron I just stop before I go too far. Then I get out and see how high it is. Lower the trailer if I need to.
MidWest_MacDaddy, mitrucker, gntorres61 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Picked up in Houston MO (broker load) and T-Called at Council Bluffs yard (Monday delivery in Omaha). At the TA for today waiting to recap hours and will head to Sioux City in the morning and then headed back to.....wait for it, ROME GA! Yeah, same place I got temporarily stuck a few days ago.

Well look on the bright side, you won’t make the same mistake again.gntorres61 Thanks this.

Delivered in KCMO, bounced over to Lawrence, Kansas and picked up a preloaded trailer coming up to Fremont. Dropped at the customer, and came over to the yard and grabbed a preloaded trailer going to Holdrege, Nebraska for a drop tomorrow. From there I will bobtail over to Broken Bow and pick up a preloaded trailer going to Sumter, South Carolina for a drop Friday or Saturday.

@runningman0661 I just applied for dry van long haul. I wanted to thank you and the other FCC drivers in this thread for all the information provided. I wanted to ask you something in a private message, but I'm not sure how to do that on this site.
