My last truck was a 2007 880 with a natural 625 hp D16. It was turned up to 700 hp. 2250 torque as well, and I ruled the mountains of BC cuz it pulled like a freight train. Anyways, with maxed tridems in the mountains I averaged 7.2 mpg, and I didn't drive for economy. I never spent enough time on the flat to figure out what the 3.21 rears would get for mileage.

When you're saying 7.2 mpg you refer to the imperial gallon or US gallon.
-
Imperial
But I've been driving semis since 1979. -
7.2 imperial is 6 US mpg. It is normal for that engine configuration.
Onemanshow Thanks this. -
7.2 imperial gallons is 8.64684 US gallons. You need to learn mathematics.

Hey, we have a comedian here.
It looks like you started pretty young to drive trucks and didn't care much for school but is ok. Also if you can tell me one single fuel pump in North America who measures diesel volume in Imperial gallons I'll teach you some math for free.
The way you talk it's obvious you're a ####y old timer who thinks everyone younger than you is a punk. You can believe your ridiculous enormities but if you ever bet money on this matter make sure you bet on the following. So: 7.2 Imperial mpg = 6 US mpg = 39 liters/100 km
Piece of honest advice: learn how to use a computer or a smart phone and with only few clicks you can find any answer your ignorance doesn't allow you to know. -
You obviously only know metric. People my age grew up knowing what gallons were and what size they were in comparison to the country next to us. The imperial gallon hasn't shrunk to less than a US gallon. A mile is a mile on both sides of the border. Therefore it takes less imperial gallons to go 1 mile compared to the same with US gallons. So, my mileage when converted to using US gallons is 8.64 mpg. And I'll have you know I have a level 2 CGA. Plus I didn't get my class 1 until I was 21. So I had plenty of time for schooling after I got out of high school. I'll be the one that judges you: you're an mouthy kid who should take remedial arithmetic.

Aside of your terminally ignorance you feel the need to have the last word no matter what.
I won't say anything else as it is obvious I'm wasting my time.
