I would have a hard time taking the word here as gospel, do some research on your rights, or if you are friends with a dot, ask him. He will tell you they are taught to always tell drivers they can search them, but know they can't, if the driver refuses.
jammer910Z Thanks this. -

Well if the dog alerted, did they find anything, or do they have under trained dogs?Dino soar Thanks this.

Only one guy at this lunch counter, and he told me he didn’t know anything.rydr, FlaSwampRat, LumbraX and 3 others Thank this. -
I completely agree with that.
They'll have to get a warrant and a judge or magistrate will have to sign off on it, before or after they impound the truck, depending upon what initiated the stop.
The PC search after the k9 alert CAN be done at roadside without a,warrant... no matter how much you protest.
I may have worded my first response incorrectly, but this is how they'll proceed, at least here in the States. -

Down in the states, Texas actually is the only place they have tried to search mine. I have never seen them actively searching a truck here, but I am sure they have at some point, That is other than customs, and even that is rare here, because they have already come through canadian customs.
